The Blackboard interface
You can navigate through the Blackboard VLE by using the tabs at the top of the page to go to the different
sections of Blackboard.
The section tabs
Click on the tabs to go to
different sections within Blackboard.
HUBS
This is the first page you will see when you log into blackboard.
The “Announcements” section is for school wide news and information. If you have information which is
relevant to the whole of HUBS you can contact HUBS Multimedia (details on the back of this sheet) to
arrange this for you.
The “Quick Links” section lists electronic resources of use to HUBS staff and students.
My Institution
This page contains a list of all of the Blackboard modules on which you are enrolled as well as various other
information boxes and tools.
The “Tools” menu to the left of the main window
provides access to a variety of tools including a
“Send E-mail” link which will allow you to
contact other people who are enrolled on the
same Blackboard modules as you.
Tip:
To change your password,
click on “Personal
Information” which will
open a new screen where
one of the options is
“Change Password”.
You will be asked to type
in your new password
twice.

The “My Modules” section lists all of the Blackboard modules
on which you are enrolled.
If you click on any of the module names in this box you will be
taken directly into that Blackboard module.

You can use the “My Announcements” section to
post information to students on a particular module
or course.

the announcements, click on “more…”

Modules
On the Modules page, you will see a list of all the modules on which you are enrolled with a list of instructors under each entry. You will also have access to the course catalogue which details all Blackboard
courses available within the University of Huddersfield.
You can also search for a course by typing a key word or words into the “Course Search” window at the
top left of the screen.
The majority of the courses taught at HUBS have guest access enabled. This allows you to search for
other courses in which you may be interested.
Courses marked (unavailable) can still be accessed by instructors who
need to work on them however students will not see the module when
they log into Blackboard until it is made available in the Control Panel.

Library
This page links directly to the Library website. Here you can browse the Library catalogue and renew
your books etc..
