A HIGHER "CLASS" OF FUN y r a t n e m e l E e e n a Kok Presents After School STEM Classes, Camps, & Workshops The “Make It Move” Class Grrr! For our first class we will make a Gremlin named Znap that reacts to its environment just to get a “taste“ of how far we can go. Careful it may bite! Kokanee Elementary PTA is offering LEGO® Engineering Classes this fall during our early release Wednesdays 2pm to 3:30pm. This is an excellent chance for our students to learn to build and program robots. will provide the courses and will teach our students engineering concepts and programming so they can build and program their very own robots. This is not a “free play with LEGO®’s” or “follow these instructions” class, but an actual curriculum where they are introduced to programming and engineering concepts then challenged to come up with solutions to engineering problems. The first of these courses is Make It Move. Students are challenged to design, build, and program robots that move using motors with rotation sensors. In five projects, students apply mathematics and science knowledge to create robots that measure distance and speed, move without using wheels, maximize power to move up an incline, and move and turn to create regular polygons. Students will also apply their knowledge of simple and complex machines and use ratios to describe proportional relationships. Sound kind of heady? You bet, but they will be creating with LEGO®’s and having a ® blast. Our students will be working in groups of two sharing a LEGO MINDSTORMS® EV3 set and a laptop. The class is recommended for 4th through 6th graders. Class fee $160.00 Sign Up Today! Class dates 10/09, 10/16, 10/23, 11/06, 11/20, 12/04, 12/11, 12/18 To reserve your space and make your payment go to WWW.ROBOT-U.COM to register today! Limit Spaced e!
