This is a simple manual which specifies in a clear and visual way, each of the procedures for each operation. We hope it will be useful, easily understandable and adequate to your needs. 2 USER´S HANDBOOK http://ycj.intras.es 1. WEB ACCESS Three types of users have been created: - Super administrator: it has all permits, from the published part (front-end) until administrative part (back-end). Only the coordinator can enter this part. - Manager: it can modify the content from the front-end. All partners have access to modify the content, once they login (username and password were provided personally to all of you by email in advance, if you lost them, please contact to [email protected]). With these users, you can access from the web front-end to various tasks of maintenance or administration, for making this, we load the webpage YCJ in the browser and go to the tab 'PRIVATE' in the horizontal menu. In the left column we see a validation menu where we introduce our data (login - password). 3 USER´S HANDBOOK http://ycj.intras.es If you press “Private Area”´ as a registered user, a greeting "Hello Administrator" and a blue button “Log out” will appear. Press it to exit properly from the session. The Super administrator user is the administrator who has the largest number of permits. Besides being able to access the back-end and do any task, in the front-end it can add new articles in any section, create or modify events, create new categories, etc. Each partner will manage the content of its organization, for this it will have manager permission to upload information and documents related to its organization. It is possible to create registered users, who can access the contents of the private area, but they are not able to manage any kind of content. 4 USER´S HANDBOOK http://ycj.intras.es 2. INTERCULTURAL ACTIVITIES 1) The PHOTO TOUR is a game where project partners can upload photos from their countries. Participants should guess what is the country displayed on the photo, because the name will be hidden. The aim is to enhance cultural dialogue and exchange visual information about countries, so we can learn about what Europe is. Any young people entering the platform can play the game, sending photos or just trying to guess which country it is. Encourage your friends and contacts to use it! 8 USER´S HANDBOOK http://ycj.intras.es In the PHOTO TOUR you will find a game in which you can upload photos of your country. HOW TO MODIFY AN ARTICLE The easiest way to modify an existing article is to access with the appropriate user to the frontend and goes to the article. In the upper right of the content area a series of icons appear: create PDF, print, send by email and edit. You should modify your private area in order to introduce the project and activities into your own language. By clicking on the EDIT icon (pen), an editor will be opened where you see all the fields related to the article. First, you have to headline the article, then the content of the article or news. Use of the editor is very similar to Word, later we will explain its potential with details. In the editor we also find the Section and Category fields. When we are modifying an existing article, we usually leave these fields as they are. Depending on the value assigned to sections and categories, the articles will be in different sections of the website. 20 USER´S HANDBOOK http://ycj.intras.es Another area is PUBLISHING. It is used to indicate whether you want that article or news to be displayed in the front-end (value "Yes"). Otherwise, this article will not be shown in the frontend for the other users even though users with appropriate permissions can see it (and in this case the bottom of the article will appear in blue). The next field is SHOW ON THE FRONT PAGE. Normally the value will be "No", unless you want the article to be shown on the front page (the homepage). Two interesting fields are start publishing date and finish publishing date, which allow you to schedule the publication of articles, both at the beginning of the publication and during the saving of the information. You can also determine the Access level to the article: public (all visitors, public part of the web), registered (only users with password, private area of the web) or special (not used in http://ycj.intras.es). 21 USER´S HANDBOOK http://ycj.intras.es The final fields are not obligatory, but they are important as they help us to improve the search engine optimization: - Description: brief (maximum 140 characters), which permits to know briefly the content of the information. - Keywords: introduce set of terms to facilitate the localization of the article. 22
