More time is spent outside which also means more time spent in the sun. Sunlight can be very enjoyable, but too much of it can be dangerous. As many of you may have already experienced, over-exposure to sunlight can result in a painful sunburn. Sunburns during childhood will increase your risk of skin cancer as an adult. Therefore, children/teenagers need to make sure they are protected from the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) radiation. So, while you are outside having fun in the sun, don’t forget to: Always use sunscreen with at least 15 SPF and reapply every 90 minutes. Wear sunglasses with UV ray protection. Wear a wide brim hat. Wear clothes to protect shoulders, arms, and legs. BCMS Facebook Page Check us out online at www.facebook.com/BakerCountyMiddleSchool/ for the most up-to-date news!
