Who's Ready for an Adventure?, May 18
The RRA Travel Committee has a New Look, New Agenda, and all that's missing is YOU!
The first new adventure is to explore the world – one meal at a time! "Passport Dinners" will
spotlight a different country and are planned each month. The group will strive to choose
restaurants with the most authentic food and atmosphere. “Travelers” pay for their own dinners
and will receive one custom “passport” to document all the “trips” they take.
First up is England: Land of Castles, Pubs, and . . . Bangor and Mash?
On Friday, May 18, join the Travel Committee at The Lion and The Rose British Restaurant and Pub, 5148 Broadway (in
Alamo Heights), from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. We’ll get to experience English food, beer, darts, and the strange way they
play billiards (they’ll teach us). Employees can come stag or bring one guest for this Dutch treat. Seating is limited, so please RSVP to sheri.baetz@
swri.org. 41st Annual Bowling Tournament

from vans and trucks to the adoption site. There were volunteers
who stayed all day and passed out literature or sold shirts when
things slowed down. In addition, the donation box that was set
up on SwRI grounds was overflowing and the RRA Outreach group
received $185 in monetary donations. Thank you so much SwRI

Spotlight on Foreign Travel
This news is about cruising and tours in Europe and other locations around the
world. Many of you have cruised from Galveston, New Orleans and other familiar
ports to Texas. But how about a cruise departing from the beautiful port of Venice
and sailing the Eastern or Western Mediterranean? Or departing from London
and cruising to the Norwegian Fjords? Barcelona is another wonderful city to
visit and sail from.
CruiseOne now has a special group established for the Norwegian Fjords on the
luxurious Celebrity Eclipse. It sails on July 6, 2013 and cruises round trip from
London (Southampton), England, and even has an overnight stop in Iceland! They
also have a sailing that takes in nature at its best in the Galapagos. Sailing on
November 2, 2014, this one is on the special Celebrity Xpedition, which sails the
Galapagos Islands itinerary year round. It even provides the opportunity to add
the optional visit to Machu Picchu…and you have over two years to save up for
the cruise. But deposits are due now!
Want to sail from Venice or Barcelona? There are several cruise lines offering
some excellent pricing for 2012. If you’ve racked up lots of frequent flyer miles,
now is the time to use them and travel to Europe and take advantage of the lower
cruise fares!
Any cruise itinerary anywhere in the world! CruiseOne can take you anywhere.
