At O’Hare Field, board your connecting flights for Beijing, the capital of China. Tuesday, Oct. 11 - Upon arrival you will be transferred to your deluxe hotel in the center of the city. Wednesday, Oct. 12 - After your breakfast, your tour starts with a visit to Tiananmen Square, followed by the Forbidden City, a UNESCO Heritage Site. Twenty-four emperors have lived here from 1421 to 1911 AD. Tonight enjoy a “Welcome Dinner” of Roast Peking Duck. B/L/SD Thursday, Oct. 13 - Wear your sturdy walking shoes today since you will visit the Great Wall of China, another UNESCO Heritage Site. This was, and is, the greatest project in ancient China. B/L Friday, Oct. 14 - Your day will start with the Temple of Heaven, another UNESCO Heritage Site, a landmark of China built in 1420 AD for emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties to worship heaven and to pray for an abundant harvest. Here you will also see many local people doing various morning exercises. Next, you will proceed to the famous Summer Palace (you guessed it), another UNESCO Heritage Site. This is China’s largest and best preserved imperial garden. B/L/D Saturday, Oct. 15 - This morning enjoy the Hutong Tour by Rickshaw, which will take you to the old residential quarters, where you will visit houses of traditional architecture. Enjoy a home-cooked lunch in a local resident’s home. This afternoon, fly to Xian and transfer to your deluxe hotel. B/L Sunday, Oct. 16 - After breakfast, you will visit the City Wall built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644AD). Your next stop is the Museum of History, one of the finest museums in China, followed by the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, which was built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD). Tonight you’ll enjoy the Tang Dynasty Show with local Dumpling Dinner. B/L/SD Monday, Oct. 17 - Today’s highlights are the famous Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses (another UNESCO Heritage Site), the Bronze Chariot and Circle Vision Movie.
