OPULENT ORCHIDS AND SOFT PASTEL HUES REIGN SUPREME WHILE PERFECTLY MARRYING PERSIAN AND WESTERN WEDDING TRADITIONS meeting and proposal Tina Imam and Amir Omidvar’s love story began at the University of British Columbia in September of 2004. They were both enrolled in the engineering program at the school and met on their first day of classes when Tina approached Amir for directions. The two started a friendship that soon blossomed into a romance. In October 2013, Amir surprised Tina with a romantic getaway to the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler. “He booked us a full spa day,” explains Tina. “When we got back to our room, he played our favourite song by John Legend (‘All of Me’). As soon as I walked in, I faced a room full of rose petals, candles, champagne, and strawberries. He got down on one knee and said how much he loved me and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. He asked me to marry him and I said, ‘yes!’” thoughtful planning Tina and Amir were married on August 9, 2014 at Vancouver’s Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel. The couple wanted their wedding to exude elegance and romance. Elnaz Jahankhani of Paisley Events Inc. was commissioned to provide full-service planning and design assistance for the event. style notes Tina wore a Reem Acra gown from Blush Bridal & Special Occasions.
