Rules : Sevillanas Competition, Euroferia 2009
Euroferia is organizing a Sevillanas dancing competition at the Euroferia Andaluza 2009
with the aim of promoting and spreading knowledge of the traditions associated with this
very special type of dancing. The dances will be performed in accordance with its typical
features and in traditional apparel giving the participants the opportunity to perform in
public and enjoy to the full the experience of doing so in the forecourt of the emblematic
Atomium.
The competition will take place on Saturday, 6 June 2009 in the Caseta Arte Musical.To
ensure that the event runs smoothly we have established the following rules:
• RULE
1
–
Participants
and
categories.
‐ The
competition
is
open
to
all
–
competing
in
couples
and
without
an
age
limit.
‐ Each
participant
may
enter
only
in
one
category.
*Junior
–
with
an
age
limit
of
12
years.
*Adult
–
from
age
13
years
upwards
with
no
upper
limit.
-
Couples may be of the same sex or of opposite sexes.
Each couple must be correctly dressed in the typical “feria” or gypsy-style or
corresponding masculine attire.
- The Jury reserves the right to refuse entry to the competition to anyone not
adhering to the stated dress-code.

RULE

–
DANCES
Participants
must
be
in
couples
and
must
respect
the
time‐table
established
by
the
organizers.
The
competition
will
be
divided
into
sessions
depending
on
the
number
of
participating
couples.
The
participants
will
perform
the
set
pieces
selected
by
the
Jury.
Participants
must
be
present
and
ready
to
perform
at
the
Caseta
Arte
Musical
at
their
pre‐arranged
time,
for
the
smooth
running
of
the
event.
Couples
who
arrive
later
than
their
allotted
time
will
be
automatically
disqualified.
The
Jury
has
the
right
to
disqualify
any
participants
whom
they
consider
to
be
inadequately
rehearsed.
RULE
4
–
THE
JURY
The
Jury
will
consist
of
qualified
experts
chosen
for
the
occasion
by
the
Eurferia
committee.
The
decision
of
the
Jury
is
final.
There
is
no
right
of
appeal.

ACCEPTANCE
‐ Registration
and
participation
in
the
competition
implies
full
acceptance
of
these
rules.
‐ Cases
of
doubt
which
may
arise
concerning
the
interpretation
or
contents
of
the
rules
will
be
decided
by
the
organising
committee
of
Euroferia
whose
decision
will
be
final
and
without
appeal.
‐ Infringement
of
these
rules
will
result
in
immediate
disqualification.
‐ The
organisers
reserve
the
right
to
modify
the
time‐table
depending
on
the
number
of
registered
performers
and
to
close
the
list
if
the
maximum
number
of
registrations
is
attained.
