30 years ago, Sadlo won the ARD Music
Competition - and since then has been shining

as a star in the percussion sky. Already as a 20
year old he was the solo timpanist for the Munich Philharmonic and since 1997 has been self-employed as a
soloist and chamber musician. One year later he won the ?ECHO Klassik? as ?instrumentalist of the year?.
After this followed many invitations to renowned ochestras and festivals as well as the publication of his
recordings by many large classical labels. Sadlo has expanded his artistic activity towards the educational.
He is now professor at the Hochschule for Music and Theatre in Munich as well as the ?Mozarteum?
university in Salzburg. He also succeeded Gidon Kremer as artistic director of the Basel festival ?les
Muséiques? from 2007 to 2010. In 2015 Peter Sadlo was awarded the prestigious Frankfurter Musikpreis.
