Kinesthetic Chitchat booklet
Director’s Note
Welcome to “Kinesthetic Chitchat!” Tonight's concert features 10 dance works that
promise to inspire and delight as our dancers take the stage. Each work showcases
student dancers as performing artists led by the imaginations of faculty, guest, student,
and legacy choreographers. The works encompass a multiplicity of inspirations and
styles, from a curious occurrence of dance and minimalist music, to Steampunk-inspired
Contemporary and the fierce energy of the “Battleworks Etude.” Prepare yourselves for
works that are unapologetically chatty, works that might carry you off on a tangent, and
works that are unexpectedly direct in “Kinesthetic Chitchat.”

This performance is part of a project to develop the materials and
methodology for Battleworks Etude. Stacy Pottinger staged the RepEtude
with ADLI's rough-cut instructional video, and then Kerry Gallagher, ADLIendorsed coach, came to Carthage College for a brief residency to work
with the students to clarify details, intention, and style.
