“Reviving the Tradition”
Discontinued during tough economic times in the 1960’s, a
group of passionate citizens brought back the Midland County
Fair, Aug 19-22, 2010. With the blessings and assistance of
Midland County, The City of Midland and generous sponsors
and devoted volunteers the new fair offers a fun, high profile,
high quality “traditional” annual fair!
The Mission of the MCF is produce a traditional, annual, family
fair showcasing the agricultural, educational and entertainment
in the West Texas Region. The Fair will develop and
emphasize the educational connection between agricultural and
the community while showcasing talents, skills and aspirations
of our youth and community. and the fair will benefit
participating area youth and community organizations through
numerous scholarship opportunities. Blue Ribbons will be
awarded in the spirit of competition
At only a $5 ticket, the MCF is by far the best “price/value” for
family fun entertainment in the area.
The return of the Fair in 2010 hosted approximately 4,500
people. Since that opening year the fair has tripled attendance
and now welcomes over 16,000 attendees annually. An
impressive increase for the newest fair in the State! The Fair
Team is working hard, to insure that all 16,000 visitors return

The Home to the MCF is the Midland County Horseshoe Arena & Pavilion. This “Multipurpose” Venue serves
as Midland County's premier entertainment venue. The Full-Service, versatile 100+ acre complex offers both
indoor and outdoor facilities and amenities. As Midland’s most popular venue, the Horseshoe hosts over 200
events annually with over 150,000 people through the doors. The MCF is proud to be recognized as one of the
Horseshoe’s showcase events.

Who is the MCF
The Midland County Fair Executive Board of Directors drafts and approves the Midland County Fair operating
budget and is responsible for developing the policies and procedures for the execution of the Midland County
Fair. The Midland County Fair Steering Committee & Activity Directors develop the strategies and implement
the plan to execute the four-day fair. Planning for the MCF is a year round process, the committees meet
monthly, host annual workshops, attend TAF&E for educational growth and host individual planning sessions.
The Midland County Fair is a 501C4 organization.

Fair Volunteers and Planning Hours
The MCF takes months of planning and hours of volunteer support. Starting immediately after the fair, the MCF
Executive Board, Steering Committee, Activity Directors, Committees and Volunteers began meeting and
planning for the next annual fair. Since opening in 2010 the board and activity directors have devoted over
3,000+ volunteer hours each year to the success of the fair. Additionally, volunteers from individual citizens to
organizations embrace the event and provide critical volunteer support during the planning process and hard
work during the week of the fair. An estimated 100+ volunteers donate their time and talent annually and the
number continues to grow as the fair becomes more visible. This endeavor would not be possible without their
support. The Midland County Fair encourages everyone to become involved.
