Many of our valued customers have decided to follow the lead
of Kaiser Permanente following the announcement in May 2014
of their decision to stop purchasing furniture treated with flame
retardants due to the concern over increasing levels of potentially
harmful chemicals into the environment.
Kaiser’s lead has been followed by other health networks,
including the following:
• Advocate Healthcare
• Beaumont Health System
• Hackensack University Medical Center
• University Hospitals
Although we are continuously working with our suppliers to
increase and amend this list, please take note of this listing of
fabric suppliers who have indicated that some or all of their
products do not contain Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers
(PBDEs), Halogenated Flame Retardants (HFRs), Phosphorous
Based and Nano flame retardants, or Boric Acid:
