Those items that are “services” in nature will be rendered at a time and place mutually agreeable to the donor and purchaser, but unless otherwise specified, must be used within one year from the date of the auction. We have made every reasonable effort to describe each item correctly that is included in the program. All items are sold “as is” and without warranties or representation of any kind. All sales are FINAL. Buddy did it in 2004 and so can you! At the Member-Guest tournament in 2004, Buddy and his partner Bob Butler qualified for the $5,000 putt-off by winning the Invitational Putting Contest. Each player had one shot at making a 70 foot putt for the money. They had to sneak away from a wedding reception in order to take their shots at the dough. In front of a crowd of 100, Buddy rolled the putt right into the center of the hole. The crowd went wild and Buddy and his partner split the $5,000. Edmund J. “Bud” Brabants December 27, 1939 - May 21, 2008 The Secret of Living Make each day a magnificent adventure. Accept the challenges that come your way. Seize each opportunity that you find, Without concern for what others might say. Experience each day with open arms, Savoring both victory and strife. Welcoming the good and bad together, For only then will you know the joy of life. Author Unknown ---------------------EJB-------------------Dear Friends, Welcome to the fourth annual golf tournament, dinner and auction in memory of Buddy. The funds raised today will benefit education. We found the “Secret of Living” inspirational verse in our father’s wallet. He carried it with him every day. It was well worn and stood out amongst traditional contents and the pictures of his grandchildren. Our father embraced these words. He thought life was an adventure. He loved a challenge. He savored every day, the good and bad, and welcomed opportunity. There is not a day that goes by when we don’t think of our dad. We ask ourselves what he would do when we are faced with challenging situations. When days are especially difficult, we pray for his guidance and strength. Most often, we find ourselves repeating expressions he would say. We call them “Budisms”. We share these little phrases of inspiration, wisdom and affection with our friends, family and coworkers. Tonight at the center of your table, you will find fortune cookies filled with “Budisms.” Some of you may recognize these expressions and you might even remember other things Buddy said when you were in his company. These words play like a familiar song in our heads. Perhaps you hear your own “tunes” filled with the advice of your parents, grandparents, friends and mentors. As long as the “tunes” keep playing, the memories of our loved ones live on and they will continue to guide, inspire and comfort us. Together, we have held four events, awarded five scholarships and raised in excess of $100,000 for education. Buddy would be proud of what we have accomplished and he might say: “Some people dream of great accomplishments, while others stay awake and do them.” Thank you for joining in this special celebration of Bud’s life. Your friendship and support has allowed us to continue Bud’s legacy of leadership for generations to come. Sincerely, The Brabants Family RAFFLE TICKETS 10 for $20 Or 25 for $40 Chinese Auction Place any number of tickets in the box displayed with the item you hope to win!
