Bunco Dice Game Days
Any seasoned singer or active adult looking to be
a part of a vocal collective can join this new choral
group. The choir sings favorite and classic songs and
works toward a solid group voice. Those who are not strong music readers are
encouraged to join in the fun. (KD)
Bring some friends for a fun day of Bunco, refreshments and prizes on the second
Monday of each month at Prisco Community Center. Bunco is an easy-to-learn

Love baseball but don’t want to run

the bases? Join this new Senior Bean
Bag Baseball team, where players toss
beanbags through holes cut into plywood (like other beanbag games) and
labeled “single,” “home run,” etc. It’s easy and fun to play. The park district
wants to form a team to challenge the team from Senior Services in Aurora and
then go out and compete against other groups. The group will alternate between
playing at Senior Services and the Prisco Center. There is no cost to play. (JHP)

Senior Mini-Bowling League
Two-pound bowling balls are used in this new
senior mini-bowling league in partnership with
Senior Services of Aurora. Form a team or sign
up as an individual and be placed on a team. Cost includes two games, lunch
and beverages. The fee is due upon check-in at the site on league days. For

The league plays on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. No registration

Rules of the Road Class
Those ages 55 and better can brush up on their driving skills before
testing or getting a new driver’s license. The class is free and offered
through the Illinois Secretary of State. Registration is not required for

Free Tax Prep Service for Seniors
AARP volunteer tax preparers will be on hand from February to April to assist
senior citizens with preparing their income tax returns. Beginning Jan. 9, those
interested can call 630-859-8606 to schedule an appointment. Volunteers will
be available only from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays by appointment only. (JHP)
Breakfast Club
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so why not make it a social
outing? The Breakfast Club meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 8:30 a.m. at
Mother’s Pancake House and Restaurant at 2290 W. Galena Blvd. in Aurora. (JHP)
The Salvation Army Golden Diners
The Salvation Army Golden Diners meal program provides nutritious meals
for seniors each week. The program is held at the Prisco Community Center
on Thursdays beginning at 11:30 a.m. in Room 102. Registration is required
by the preceding Tuesday each week; call 630-232-6676 to make a reservation.
Guests are invited to join that day’s Friendly Center Club activities at Prisco. (JHP)

Holiday Lunch & Bingo
Enjoy the holiday season with this fun afternoon of a catered
lunch by Luigi’s and then some bingo games. Please pre-register
so there is an accurate count for lunch. This program is in

Over 60 Club
This senior social club meets monthly to share lunch and a variety of programs.
Meetings are held on the last Wednesday of every month at the Prisco Community
Center and cost $2. Area residents are invited to bring their own service and a dish to

“Edad De Oro” Social Club
The Golden Age Hispanic Social Club meets from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays at the
Prisco Community Center. The free club is designed for men and women age 50
and older. Activities include games, food and holiday decorations. The meetings
are conducted in Spanish. Membership is free, and all are welcome. Call Frank

El Club Social Hispano de la Edad de Oro, se reune a partir de las 7 to 9 p.m.

Years
The Friendly Center Club meets at noon on Thursdays all year
long at the Prisco Community Center, 150 W. Illinois Ave. in
Aurora. The club is for all active adults 55 and better. Anyone
may visit twice as a guest, and the third time may become
a member. Everyone must register in advance for luncheons.
Members pay $2 dues each week. The club plans numerous
activities every month, such as birthday parties, bingo,
luncheons, holiday and theme parties and guest speakers.

Originated in 1951, the Friendly Center Club was the vision
of John A. Lippold, who felt a club for ages 55 and better was
needed. Today the club includes more than 250 members who
meet at the Prisco Community Center. The club officially turns
60 years old in November.

The winter walking incentive runs through March 1.
