Our environmental policy
As organiser of Transports Publics, the European Mobility Exhibition, GIE Objectif transport public is a
firm believer in the importance of a sustainable development policy for events management. With this
in mind, it has established a procedure aimed at minimising the environmental and social impact of the
events it organises.
The approach focuses on the responsible management of transport, raw materials, energy and waste.
It is on this basis and with the concern of continuously improving that the GIE organizes this exhibition.
GIE Objectif transport public has included sustainable development aspects
in its specifications for providers,
and encourages you to do the same in your role as exhibitors,
also including your own providers in this policy.
5 good reasons for following our environmental policy
1
2
Ensuring you are in line with your own company’s sustainable development policy
Increasing numbers of firms are implementing sustainable development strategies for their core
business, covering social, environmental and economic issues. Incorporating these principles in
the events you take part in is one way of extending this policy.
Taking steps to minimise the environmental impact of the event
This exhibition is yours – and your commitment alongside us is important to us. We won’t
succeed in minimising the impact of this event on the environment without your help!
Bringing down your costs
3
4
5
Contrary to popular belief, responsible management of energy and raw materials in your
communications, stand layout and events will almost certainly bring down your exhibition costs.
Meeting stakeholder expectations
Stakeholders in your sector and for the Exhibition as a whole (clients, prospects, partners,
visitors, journalists and others) expect you to be an example in this respect.
Being seen as a pioneering innovator
This is an opportunity to find new ideas to highlight your products, services and vehicles in an
environmentally-friendly manner – and that won’t go unnoticed!
Exhibitor technical guide - Paris-Expo – Porte de Versailles / June 10-11-12, 2014

How to go about it
This technical guide includes “green spots”: ideas and practical advice to help you organise your
involvement, from stand design through to your choice of providers and travel arrangements for your
teams.
As an exhibitor, your attention is drawn to three points in particular:
Energy
First and foremost, responsible energy management provides economic benefits. For instance,
lighting, particularly stand lighting rigs, use huge amounts of energy. Your display can be made
to stand out without using so much electricity. Ask your stand installer to optimise lighting,
compare technologies and find less power-hungry solutions.
Waste
The organisers will be using sorted waste management before, during and after the event. It is
important that your providers (stand installers, decorators, etc.) observe the waste sorting
instructions provided.
Skips will be put in place near the exhibition hall; a waste sorting scheme will be used for these.
Transport
Travel by participants accounts for 75% of the carbon impact of exhibitions. When you come to
Paris, travel by air rather than by train whenever possible. On site, use public transport.
Paris-Expo/Porte de Versailles is easily accessible using the metro, buses, tramway and selfservice bikes.
Exhibitor technical guide - Paris-Expo – Porte de Versailles / June 10-11-12, 2014
10
Designing your stand
Providers and suppliers:
Use local professionals if possible (thereby bringing down the carbon footprint for transport).
Stand fittings:
Use rented, reusable or recyclable materials where possible.
Carpeting:
Choose a “green” carpet, preferably carpet tiles which can be re-used, or a recyclable carpet.
Traditional carpet can not be valued (it is buried on a site in the Oise and contributes to soil pollution).
Waste management:
Leave your waste on-site during set-up and break-down. The cleaning team will remove it and sort it
into the appropriate skip depending on the type of waste.
During the exhibition, GIE Objectif transport public will be distributing two types of plastic bag for glass
and standard waste. Leave bags for sorted waste collection in the aisles every evening after the
exhibition closes.
Waste bins will be available throughout the exhibition to further assist in your waste sorting.
It is important that you make your cleaning teams aware of this scheme beforehand.
Lighting:
Use low-energy bulbs or LEDs wherever possible.
Designing communications
To promote your presence on site:
- Use electronic forms of communication wherever possible.
- Print only as many documents as you are likely to actually need.
- Use FSC certified paper and environmentally-friendly ink for your printing needs wherever possible.

III – General exhibition regulations
Installation
Location of all stands is decided by the organisers. Stand size and location may be changed at
any time if required. The organisers’ decision is final in this respect. A pro rata reduction on the
concession price will be granted only if there is a reduction in the surface area allocated.
Exhibitor locations are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis by order of application.
In no circumstances may exhibitors use vacant areas around their stand.
Exhibitor obligations
Once registrations have been accepted, they are final and definitively binding on the registering
party who is then liable for the total amount on the invoice. (Art. 118 of the French Fair and
Exhibition Code).
Signing registration entails an obligation to occupy the allocated stand or location at least 24
hours prior to the event opening, and this space must remain properly occupied until the
exhibition closes.
No request to withdraw registrations for any reason whatsoever will be taken into consideration.
In all cases, the deposit paid will remain irrevocably forfeited to the organiser.
Registration entails full acceptance of all details of these regulations and the special precisions
included in all the exhibitor guide and with all control and policing measures that may be
specified by the authorities or administrative bodies.
Any infringement of these regulations and/or special regulations may lead to immediate,
temporary or permanent exclusion of the exhibitor in question, with no compensation or
reimbursement of sums paid being due and without prejudice to any legal action that may
subsequently be taken against such parties.
No-shows
In the event of a no-show, the full balance of the invoice shall remain due by the exhibitor
regardless of the circumstances. Stands or locations that are unoccupied on the opening day of
the exhibition may be allocated to another exhibitor, without the defaulting exhibitor being
entitled to any damages whatsoever and/or reimbursement of sums paid by them.
Design of stands and rigging
Standard height of stands and advertising supports is 3.2m from the hall floor. Any
part of the stand with a height in excess of the standard height of 3.2m (6 m
maximum) must be at least 3m from the edge of the stand and is subject to the prior
written permission of the organiser.
The organisers will pay special attention to whether stand architecture and/or
vehicles conceal neighbouring stands.
Stand sides immediately adjacent to other stands must be clean and painted or clad.
No stand may include an upper level.
Stands facing each other may not be partitioned for more than half their length.
Exhibitor technical guide - Paris-Expo – Porte de Versailles / June 10-11-12, 2014
17
Rigging above stands must comply with the following dimensions:
- Bottom of hung signage: more than 5 m from ground level
- Distance from stand edge: at least 1 metre
Plans must be approved by Bruno McKay : [email protected] before April 30,
2014
The Organiser reserves the right to amend any plan that does not comply with the above criteria
and/or that impedes proper visibility of neighbouring stands or the exhibition in general.
Any plan not deemed to fulfil these criteria and requiring review shall be submitted no later than
April 23, 2014.
Any plans that have not been approved by the Organiser may be subject to adjustment on site
during set-up operations.
Storage of packaging and waste disposal
For safety reasons, there is no packaging storage area within the Exhibition site.
Exhibitors must make arrangements for removal of such items prior to opening.
If required, please contact Clamageran (see order form no. 2, p.51).
Skips will be installed outside adjacent to the Exhibition Hall for waste disposal. Exhibitors
must remove their waste and sort it appropriately.
Sort your waste by the type of material:
- Paper / cardboard
- Glass
- Wood
- All other waste
Note: there will be a special skip for hazardous waste. This should be used for paint, white
spirit, aerosols, and so on.
Similarly, all areas around your stand must be kept clean and free from any obstructions,
throughout the set-up phase.
Every evening, when personnel leave the site, waste must be placed in the aisles in the bags
handed out for this purpose on the first day (green bags for glass and transparent bags for all
other waste).
Hazardous products
Any kind of storage of flammable and/or hazardous materials in the exhibition areas, stand
stores, alleyways or in the areas immediately surrounding the exhibition halls is strictly
prohibited.
Fixings to structural components
The fixing of any element of any nature, including signage, to gas and/or electrical supply
conduits, the water-based fire extinguishing system, ventilation, heating, and smoke venting
ducts, or to any other existing apparatus or ducting, or pillars, is strictly prohibited.
Exhibitor technical guide - Paris-Expo – Porte de Versailles / June 10-11-12, 2014
18
Fixings to partitions
Fitted stand panels are made of melamine. Please do not use nails or staples to fix posters,
pictures, etc. in any circumstances. Materials to be used: fixing putty, chains, or picture rails.
Do not paint partitions or floors.
Exhibitors are liable for all damage caused to hall and stand structures by them or companies
carrying out work on their behalf.
Damage
Exhibitors are required to be familiar with and abide by all safety measures stipulated by public
authorities and the organiser. The organisers will prohibit the operation of any stand that does
not comply with these safety regulations.
The space rented must be left as it was found. Painting, gluing and/or making holes in hall
pillars, cladding or floors is strictly prohibited.
All damage will be invoiced at rates set by Viparis.
All waste, adhesive materials and construction elements must be removed by the break-down
deadline.
Stand removal
Break-down may commence no sooner than 7pm on June 12th, 2014. All stands, decorations,
equipment and merchandise must be removed by noon on Saturday June 13th.
Once this deadline has passed, the organiser may take all measures it deems necessary to
remove any equipment or merchandise that has not been removed and demolish any structures
and decorations of any nature that have not been dismantled, at the liability and expense of the
exhibitor, and with no liability incumbent on it in this respect.
Customs
Each exhibitor is responsible for completing customs formalities for all materials and products to
be shipped from abroad. The organiser cannot be held liable for any difficulties arising from
these formalities.
Industrial property
Exhibitors are responsible for providing industrial protection of all equipment and products in
compliance with legal provisions in force. These measures must be taken prior to all such
equipment and products being exhibited; the organiser cannot be held liable in this respect.
Photographs will be taken on site during the event. These photographs, which may feature
logos, brands and models exhibited by exhibitors on their stands, may be used to promote the
event on hardcopy materials and on the Internet. Any exhibitor not wishing all or part of their
stand or any element thereof (logo, brand, model, etc.) to feature on photographs used to
promote the event must inform the organiser in writing beforehand.

Unfair competition
Throughout the exhibition, exhibitors explicitly undertake not to engage in acts of unfair
competition, including surveys and/or distribution of promotional items other than on their own
stand that would constitute a diversion, to their benefit, of visitors to the event.
Leaflets may only be distributed within the confines of exhibitors’ stands.
Vocal promotion, whether amplified or not, is prohibited.
Special events
No equipment exhibited, or any noisy or noise-emitting event, must disturb or otherwise
interfere with neighbouring stands.
Disputes
In the event of disputes, the French text of these regulations is legally binding and Paris courts
shall have sole jurisdiction.
Insurance
Exhibitors are liable for all damage (bodily injury, material and non-material damage) to
themselves or third parties, including their agents, and to equipment, fittings or merchandise
belonging to or entrusted to them.
You are reminded that exhibitors must take out comprehensive insurance and civil liability
insurance for the entire duration of the event from set-up to break-down. These mandatory
policies must cover the following:
- all merchandise on show, stand fittings and furnishings, samples, accessories, and packaging
- exhibitors’ third party liability.
Neither the organiser nor Paris Expo may be held liable in any circumstances for any theft, loss,
accident or any other loss or damage to exhibitors’ personal property, either during opening
hours or during stand set-up and break-down.
An insurance certificate must be supplied by May 2, 2014 to:

I. I.DEFINITION
The Exhibitors’ Safety Instruction is a document written and devised by the coordinator defining all appropriate
measures to prevent hazards arising from the interference of the activities of different companies during assembly and
dismantling of TRANSPORTS PUBLICS 2014
It must be communicated to all exhibitors who must transmit it to their stand designer /suppliers when they have
named them. It enables them to inform Suppliers and Sub-contractors about the special measures to apply to ensure
safety at work.
I. 2. COMPOSITION
The Safety Instructions including a certificate.
The safety regulations of the Venue and the Fire Safety instructions are available from the organizer.
I.3. DEFINITION OF THE COMPANY
Any firm that provides services to the exhibitor, and is charged with creating the infrastructures of the stand is
considered as a company. The exhibitor is responsible for his own suppliers and sub-contractors.
The company director remains responsible for the safety of his employees and is required to implement the means
necessary to avoid and control risks.
The courts severely sanction any damage to the health or safety of employees and the civil and / or penal liability of
the company director can be invoked.
The companies declare that they have taken note of the texts quoted in this document, as well as the general
conditions of the show organization deposited with the organizer.
In addition, it is supposed that companies have:
a). Taken note of plans and documents useful in carrying out the work, and of event technical files, and that they
have taken due note of the sites, places and installation areas of major structures and of all general or local elements
relating to the execution of the work,
b). Perfectly understood all the conditions for carrying out the work and have been made fully aware of their
importance and their particular features.
c). Made a detailed visit of the site and taken note of all the physical conditions and all constraints pertaining to the
places of work, accesses and surroundings, to the ready execution of the work, and to the on-going organization and
operation of the worksite.

VIII. PROTECTION
The workers are reminded that they must give priority to COLLECTIVE protections over INDIVIDUAL
protections, anytime that it is technically possible.
VIII. 1. COLLECTIVE PROTECTION
Definition: Standardised means of protection set up by a company (barriers, nets, floor, cladding, guard rails…);
designed to ensure the collective safety of staff working at a height or on an upper floor during assembly and
dismantling.
This collective protection must be rigid composed of a high and low hand rail and a
baseboard, safely attached and must be installed from the outside with appropriate
means, before any work is purchased on a storey or at height during assembly or
dismantling. It must be removed only after the installation of the definitive protection or
partition. The stairs must be assembled as a priority and made safe by guardrails as
soon as they are set up.
The stairs cavities must be protected (Closed or with a guardrail).
Material deliveries access must be secured.
It is reminded that high decorative parts must be designed to take collective protection
For the dismantling all these protection must be reinstalled.
Each company in their respective Individual Health and Safety Protection Plan must
describe collective protections.
The company must see to the maintenance of collective protections and will be held responsible if work is carried
out in areas not prepared and not protected. It must intervene immediately at any direct request from the stand
Coordinator to restore or supplement these protections.
Article R 4323-65 – The collective protection devices must be designed and installed in order to avoid a
gap at work station access points namely when a ladder or staircase is used. However when such a gap is
unavoidable measures must be taken to ensure equivalent safety.
If a company fails to establish collective protection, the absence of which constitutes a risk for other trades and its
own staff, the exhibiting company will have these collective protective measures set up by a company of its choice, at
the expense of the defaulting company.
Any ensuing work stoppage will also be charged to the defaulting company.
VIII. 2 INDIVIDUAL PROTECTIONS
When collective protection system cannot be implemented, the workers protection must be ensured by appropriate
“stop falling” system that cannot permit a free fall as more as one meter. When this kind of equipment is used, the
worker must never leave alone.
Companies that have to intervene during the assembly and dismantling periods must, among other things, provide
their staff with the following individual protection equipment (IP):
- Work clothes,
- Gloves adapted to the work,
- Safety hard hats compliant with standards,
- Safety shoes (reinforced toes + anti-perforation soles),
- Safety harness that conforms to standards when the collective protection provisions cannot be implemented.
(Art R 4223-61 of the Work Code).
- Welding mask and safety goggles during welding, unloading or grinding work.
Respect for these provisions, and the upkeep and good condition of this equipment is the responsibility of each
company.
Exhibitor technical guide - Paris-Expo – Porte de Versailles / June 10-11-12, 2014
37
Wearing safety shoes (safety toe-caps + anti-perforation soles) is compulsory for any
person entering the show site during the assembly and dismantling periods.
For all people working from elevated platforms and any task presenting a risk, wearing a
hard hat is compulsory

Ladders, stepladders and footstep platforms must not be used as work positions.
(Article R 4323-63 of the work code)
However these facilities may be used when it is impossible to use equipment providing a collective protection to the
workers or when the risk has been evaluated as low and the work is for a short and non-repetitive length of time
(article R 4323-63 of the work code)
The company must provide the prevention installed when using this means.
The companies may work at heights with scaffoldings or mobile platforms
Approved personnel must assemble scaffolding, respecting the directives or instructions of the manufacturer; the
platforms must be correctly positioned, guardrails and stability props must be in place.

Exhibitor technical guide - Paris-Expo – Porte de Versailles / June 10-11-12, 2014
38
IX. 3. MEASURES TAKEN CONCERNING CO-ACTIVITY
Companies must provide a detailed assembly and dismantling schedule in their I.H.S.P.P
Any work which might create a situation placing workers over each other must be resolved by
carrying out the work at different times, or with special protection arrangements.
Within the framework of the timetable of assembly and dismantling work, companies acting on the same site must
take all appropriate individual protection measures to prevent hazards caused by superimposed work, particularly
during the installation and dismantling of gantries, signposting, light adjustments of the altimetric readings, and
assembly/dismantling of large equipment.
The exhibitor or his project manager must set up a work schedule taking into account a chronological order of
assembly, to avoid tasks at different levels in the same site and to carry out these tasks using suitable means.
These means can be common to several workers or companies.
This chronological order will be in the same way adapted to dismantling.
IX. 4. SITE CONNECTIONS / LIGHTING
IX. 4. 1. Regulations

they observe to the managers of the Exhibition site.
The technical traps of the hall must be correctly closed or protected in case of temporary
opening to avoid any risk of falling of people.
An approved body must inspect the worksite electrical installation before being brought into service. This inspection
report must be available for consultation and kept on site throughout the assembly and dismantling periods.
To avoid risks of electrocution, deterioration of electricity cables, and the multiplication of connections on a same
line: Unauthorised connections on the existing power points in the halls will not be tolerated.
All the worksite cables and extension leads must be in good condition and compliant with current standards.
Worksite electricity cabinets are available from the Park.
IX. 4. 2. Lighting
The general lighting in the work areas must be compliant with lighting regulations determined by decree nr 83.721
of 2 August 1983 and repeated in the work code in articles R 4223-1 to 12
Light intensity in working areas must be at least
120 Lux, and 60 Lux in traffic movement aisles.
The assembly and dismantling of decors may obscure the light in the halls (roofing,
canopy, stretched ceiling…), so provisional lighting must be provided.
IX. 5. PREVENTION OF RISKS OF PROFESSIONAL DISEASES
IX. 5. 1. Hazardous materials
It is imperative for any company that needs to use hazardous products to send the safety data sheets to the Safety
Coordinator and to the Fire Safety Control Agency, and put in place the protection measures specified on the
sheet.
Exhibitor technical guide - Paris-Expo – Porte de Versailles / June 10-11-12, 2014

An extinguisher appropriate to the risks must be placed by the user company near hot point work (welding stations,
etc…)
For any grinding or welding operation, a fire permit must be applied for from the venue department in charge.
Gas bottles under pressure must be protected from knocks, falls and heat, and no unauthorised person must be
able to have access to them.
It is forbidden to keep or store gas bottles, full or empty, in the halls.
X. FIRE SAFETY
The fire safety regulations are deposited with the organizer and available in the Exhibitor Guide.
The Official Safety Committee is very strict as regards structural construction (construction and decoration
materials, solidity and stability of structures, upper floors, emergency provisions, electrical fittings, etc...).
The decisions taken by the committee during its tour of inspection are enforceable immediately.
At the time of this Committee’s tour of inspection, the stand installation must be complete. The exhibitor (or his
representative) must be present on the stand and be in a position to supply fire reaction reports drawn up by an
approved French laboratory in respect of all materials used, together with the reports of inspections of electrical

place, permanence, reprise, etc.
