With its network of large parks covering nearly
2 000 hectares, its green spaces, tree-lined roads
and natural environments, Montréal is becoming
increasingly green. In an effort to continue improving the quality of life of our fellow citizens and
the environment we will be passing down to future
generations, we are working tirelessly to protect
and consolidate the metropolis’ natural heritage
from a sustainable development standpoint.
Montréal’s large parks offer privileged access to
exceptional natural spaces and a variety of activities organized by our partners. Whether you love
nature or the great outdoors or are looking for
family, education or recreational activities, there is
something for everyone in the city’s 17 large parks. Furthermore,
access is free and many facilities are adapted to the needs of people
with reduced mobility.
This summer, I invite you to make the most of all the benefits
Montréal’s natural settings have to offer by visiting our large parks!

Montréal is often called the “green and blue” city,
and with good reason! The island, its shores and
the city itself are home to 17 large parks. As they
provide privileged access to water, some are part
of a blue network that includes all of the parks
and public or semi-public spaces that offer this
feature.
Our large parks have long been meeting points
for Montrealers. Used for relaxation and recreation, they are the perfect location to practice
recreational, educational, cultural, sports and outdoor activities as well as hold popular festivities.
Some, like the nature parks, stand out from the
rest. Their mission being nature conservation,
they offer rich architectural heritage and a wide variety of plants and
wildlife.

At the lac aux Castors, discover the monumental bronze sculptures of
Taiwanese artist Ju Ming, acclaimed as one of the great contemporary
Asian artists. The other sculptures in this 19-work Taichi series can be
seen at the Quartier international de Montréal and the piers of the
Vieux-Port.

adventure. Put your scientific and cultural instincts to
the test during a treasure hunt at the Place publique
de la TOHU, inside the Pavilion and on the periphery
of the CESM.

Not only are TOHU and the École nationale de cirque extending the
red carpet to the public, but the Cirque du Soleil will delight visitors
with colourful activities on site. Introduction to circus arts, demonstrations, tours, makeup, exhibitions, creative workshops and much more!
