Looking to the Future
The Eastmont Towers Community continues with our proud tradition
of providing quality senior living and continuum healthcare.
Eastmont was originally incorporated in 1965 and our doors opened
in 1968. We have embraced many changes since our inception,
and continue to look to the horizon for our future and the future
needs of those we serve.

Eastmont Towers Community
As part of the strategic planning process, the Board of Directors and Eastmont Administration have
embarked on the potential for a new campus. Recently we purchased 20-plus acres on Yankee Hill Road
for an additional campus to complement our “O” Street location and to reach out to a varied demographic
population. We plan to build a new campus with the continuum of independent, assisted living, and skilled
and rehab services, and amenities for the health and wellness of our future population.
As we remain a non-profit independent Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) offering Life
Care, we will plan to pre-sell 75% of our independent living units prior to breaking ground for our project.
We are working with the experts at Bluespire to help market and pre-sell our units and schedule
informational meetings for those interested. Our team is also actively participating in the schematic
design process.
We are dedicated to the future vision of the “O” Street campus and remain committed to enhancing this
incredible location well into the future. Soon we hope to share more specifics about our new project and
the overall vision for Eastmont. Stay tuned and thank you for your support of this evolving community.

Financial Highlights
Another successful year
Back in 1997, the Eastmont Towers Foundation (ETF) was established by Dr. Robert Chitwood and the
Eastmont Board of Directors as a way to ensure that this not-for-profit community can continue on into
the future. The Foundation has continued to grow since 1997 and you can see from the funds listed on
the lower right that there are numerous areas of impact. ETF works closely with leadership to determine
needs and identify areas where we can have the greatest impact. Having this foundation has provided
improved quality of life and services for Eastmont residents, those at The Monarch and the community as
a whole.
The Foundation could not support the Eastmont community without our amazing donors! Thank you to
all of you who have made an investment in Eastmont.

These funds allow Eastmont

care for those at The
Monarch. Last year, funds
raised provided over 600
days of end-of-life care to
those in need.

Foundation Highlights
Employee Scholarship Fund
Eastmont encourages employees to pursue their education by
providing continuing education scholarships. Additional education
means better opportunities for employees and their families, as well as,
the betterment of Eastmont and the services we can provide our
residents. This fund is supported by gifts from residents and
employees who see the importance in offering this opportunity to our
employees.
Quint Bottolfsen is one of our scholarship recipients. This May, Quint
graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of
Science in Business and minors in Marketing and Human Resources.
He worked full-time at Eastmont while completing his degree and
earned a 3.61 GPA.
Quint and his wife, Nan, at graduation
Quint has unofficially worked at Eastmont for 12 years (officially 10 years in July after an absence in
2005). During his time here he has been a Medication Aide, a Medical Records Clerk, an Accounting
Clerk in the Business Office and in 2015 became the Health Information Management Coordinator.
Pursuing his education has allowed Quint to make progress toward
his goal of becoming a Health Care Administrator. He will begin his
MBA at Nebraska Wesleyan either this fall or early 2016. He looks
forward to applying his education to his work here at Eastmont with
the new project development and being mentored by Carol Ernst
and Beth Nelsen. Quint feels very blessed to work with such
dedicated and knowledgeable leaders here at Eastmont.
Quint is very grateful for the support he receives here at Eastmont
from what he describes as a “family-like atmosphere” of residents
and staff. He sends his immense gratitude to everyone who has
supported the employee scholarship fund. With the cost of college
tuition, books and supplies, the scholarship goes a long way in
ensuring employees can reach their educational and life goals.
This fiscal year, the Eastmont Towers Foundation has distributed
over $3,000 in scholarships to employees. This fund is maintained
by gifts from residents, their families and staff. Each employee can
apply for up to $1,000 per year for a full-time employee or up to
$500 per year for part-time.
Eastmont Cares Fund
The Eastmont Cares Fund was established in 2015 to provide financial assistance to employees who find
themselves in an emergency situation. For requests that are approved, Eastmont will provide a gift of up
to $250 in financial support once per calendar year. A lead gift was made in May from the Pat Sinkey
estate which allowed us to begin accepting applications shortly thereafter. In 2015 the Directors received
and approved four applications for assistance.
Activities Van
Thanks to the support of
residents, staff and community
members, Eastmont was able to
upgrade the Activities van! The
old van, which had been donated
by an Eastmont resident years
ago, was in need of replacement.
The new van arrived in August
and residents are thoroughly
enjoying the increased comfort
and accessibility the new van has
to offer.
Bladder Scanner
The Eastmont Towers Foundation Gifts and Memorials Committee
approved the purchase of a bladder scanner for use in the health care
areas. This non-invasive tool allows the individuals in our care the most
comfort while undergoing tests. This item had been on the “wish list” for
a while and our nurses were very thankful for this upgraded technology.
Benevolent Care
The Benevolent Care Fund was started by Dr. Abe Epp to provide for individuals who had exhausted their
financial resources. Last fiscal year, 479 days of benevolent care were provided to individuals residing at
the Eastmont Towers Community.

Development Support Fee
When you make a donation to any
non-profit, a portion of those funds
donated are used to cover
operation expenses like staff,
utilities, printing and other
necessities. Industry standards
are anywhere from 5-20% of each
donation is used for this purpose.
The Eastmont Towers Foundation
Board, after several years of
discussion, felt strongly that having a formal policy in place was an
important step and would be best implemented at the beginning of the
fiscal year, September 1st, 2015. The development support fee policy
states that that 93% of each donation will go to the designated fund while
7% will be used to cover operational expenses. While funds have always
been set aside and used for this purpose, this policy allows us to report
more clearly to our donors precisely what their donation is being used for.
