Good skills. Better jobs. Brighter futures. WHAT IS THE GOODWILL CAREERS IN RETAIL INITIATIVE? WHY SHOULD I PARTICIPATE IN CAREERS IN RETAIL? The Goodwill Careers in Retail initiative is a no-cost program that trains entry-level retail employees to move up to rewarding, higher-paying jobs and lasting careers. There are a lot of great jobs in retail, but getting them requires skills and training. You might be interested in becoming an assistant manager, a front-line supervisor or a loss prevention professional, but how do you take the next step to reach your goal? Careers in Retail gives you the skills and support to take on these kinds of jobs and more, and we’ll let employers know you are trained and ready to succeed. WHAT KINDS OF CAREERS WILL THE TRAINING PREPARE ME FOR? Careers in Retail helps people advance to positions beyond entry level for jobs in sales, customer service, merchandising and human resources. Program participants might find jobs such as: ŶFrontline supervisors. ŶAssistant managers. ŶCustomer service supervisors. ŶMerchandising specialists. ŶLoss prevention professionals. ■ Food service managers. ■ Hospitality supervisors. WILL I FIND A GOOD JOB AFTER I COMPLETE THE TRAINING? Goodwill works with local employers to train you for the types of jobs available in your area. This means that when you complete your training, you will have skills that are in demand. You might have the opportunity to move up in your current job or to earn a job with another employer. We also work with local employers to host hiring fairs, interviews and other opportunities for you to meet with potential employers. Once you find the right position, we will continue to provide support as you grow in your new career and advance to the next level. QUICK FACTS $ HOW MUCH DOES THE TRAINING COST? There is no cost to participants. CAN I PARTICIPATE AND WORK AT THE SAME TIME? Yes! Training sessions are scheduled at a variety of times and some are available online, so you can keep your current job while you build your skills. HOW LONG DOES THE TRAINING TAKE? It depends.
