WHAT IS THE GOODWILL
CAREERS IN RETAIL INITIATIVE?
WHY SHOULD I PARTICIPATE
IN CAREERS IN RETAIL?
The Goodwill Careers
in Retail initiative is a
no-cost program that
trains entry-level retail
employees to move
up to rewarding,
higher-paying jobs
and lasting careers.
There are a lot of great jobs in retail, but getting them
requires skills and training. You might be interested in
becoming an assistant manager, a front-line supervisor or
a loss prevention professional, but how do you take the
next step to reach your goal? Careers in Retail gives you
the skills and support to take on these kinds of jobs and
more, and we’ll let employers know you are trained and
ready to succeed.
WHAT KINDS OF CAREERS WILL
THE TRAINING PREPARE ME FOR?
Careers in Retail helps people advance to positions
beyond entry level for jobs in sales, customer service,
merchandising and human resources.
Program participants might find jobs such as:
ŶFrontline supervisors.
ŶAssistant managers.
ŶCustomer service supervisors.
ŶMerchandising specialists.
ŶLoss prevention professionals.
■ Food service managers.
■ Hospitality supervisors.
WILL I FIND A GOOD JOB AFTER
I COMPLETE THE TRAINING?
Goodwill works with local employers to train you for
the types of jobs available in your area. This means that
when you complete your training, you will have skills
that are in demand. You might have the opportunity
to move up in your current job or to earn a job with
another employer. We also work with local employers
to host hiring fairs, interviews and other opportunities
for you to meet with potential employers. Once you
find the right position, we will continue to provide
support as you grow in your new career and advance
to the next level.
