Individual Celebrity Portraits
The
Celebrity
Portraits
For each celebrity we create a ‘portrait’ that allows a quick view of their strengths
and weaknesses across all 10 traits.
Each ‘portrait’ has a celebrity scoreboard which provides
their score in each of the key celebrity measurements.
First chart is a column chart that provides the individual
score for each of the 10 traits for all scores from 1 through
to 10. This we call the Traits Score Spread as it indicates
the actual scores respondents gave. If the scores are
generally spread out across all numbers from 1–10, then
the celebrity is probably still establishing themselves and
yet to cut through definitively with the key traits, or they
may just be viewed as average celebrities.
2
The second are the Positive Dimension spider charts for
each of the 10 Traits for the celebrity. These charts provide
a footprint indicating the comparative strengths or weaknesses for each attribute.
By comparing these charts and table you can determine
the strongest trait for each celebrity, and whether that
strength is spread out across the scale or comes from
strong ‘passion’ for them in that trait.

How and when the
research was conducted
The Australian Celebrity Report is an ongoing omnibus survey conducted by Nine
Rewards nationally.
The Nine Rewards omnibus survey tests celebrities in pods
of five names at a time, leading to each respondent having to spend less than 10 minutes on each survey.
Each week Nine Rewards surveys 3–5 ‘Pods’ of celebrities,
collecting responses for about 20 celebrities each week.
Each celebrity has to receive a minimum sample size of
250 per metropolitan market, or 1,250 nationally to be
included in the report.
This sample size allows The Australian Celebrity Report to
provide metropolitan market reports (Sydney, Melbourne,
Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth) as well as National reports. It
also allows us to provide results for subscribers to specific
gender/demographic cells on request.
The results are weighted in each market to current ABS
population.
All celebrities are rated one at a time for all the scores
before another celebrity is presented for rating. This serves
to keep a respondent thinking only about that celebrity
when answering the questions, and not seeing other
celebrities in a list form that might lead to comparative
scoring.
The Australian Celebrity Report seeks to keep all responses as accurate as possible, so each respondent is only
ever asked to rate five celebrities in a survey. This means
surveys run no more than 5–6 minutes and remain fresh,
accurate and without fatigue.
Most questions are asked using a 1–10 scale and the
results used in the calculations for the various Score Reports mostly use what we call Positive Dimension Scores.
This means we only take the results for each celebrity
from the 8, 9 or 10 scores each celebrity receives. Celebrities are people who are outstanding in a variety of
traits, and to be outstanding means having high positive
scores for these traits. People with a lot of ‘average’ responses may still get reasonably high ‘average’ scores for
many traits, but this often only determines who might be
‘good’, but not ‘great’.
The Australian Celebrity Report focuses on those celebrities that are going to cut through the crowd and really
stand out.
About the sample source

members across Australia. Part of the Nine Entertainment
Co., Nine Rewards has a unique recruitment source utilising Australia’s most diversified media and entertainment
