The Devon Valley Hotel’s 50 stylishly furnished guest rooms reflect the
contemporary colonial feel of the hotel while enjoying unobstructed views of

vineyards. There are six conference venues which are flooded with natural light,
are air-conditioned and are configurable to almost any seating requirement,

SylvanVale Vineyards
SylvanVale is the estate comprising the vineyards surrounding the historic
Devon Valley Hotel. Grapes have been grown on the property since the 1960s.
Today these are some of the flagship vineyards in the Devon Valley, and the
south-east facing slopes with their rich red soils now produce superb Pinotage,
Cabernet and Chenin Blanc cultivars. Viticulturist Lorna Hughes, who has been
instrumental in the renaissance of the property, implements a programme of
total quality management, resulting in intensely flavoured and ultra ripe fruit the basis of SylvanVale’s big, bold wines.

Vineyard Hiking & Biking Trails
Vineyard hiking trails around The Devon Valley Hotel is your opportunity to relax
and unwind as the tranquility of the rolling hills unfold. Enjoy the hospitality of
the wine farmers along the route who share many generations’ toil to cultivate
wines of origin and style. One can also sample the superlative wines of the
region and experience the wine-making process first hand.
There are three spectacular routes on offer: The Mountain Route for the bird and
nature lover; The Vintners Route for the wine lover and the Devon Valley Route
for the health and fitness lover – this trail affords the hiker with a good work-out,
all along the slopes of the vine-clad hills, with commanding views of both sides

Directions
From the Airport, take the N2 in the direction of Somerset West. Take Exit Number 33 off
the N2 (signposted Baden Powell Drive & Stellenbosch)
Continue along the R310 for approximately 10km in the direction of Stellenbosch, passing
by Spier Wine Estate on your right.
You will reach a T-junction. Neethlingshof Wine Estate’s tall water fountain can be seen to
your left. Turn right onto the R306/M12 in the direction of Stellenbosch.
Continue along for another 1.5km and you will pass the Cape Saw Mills on your left-hand
side. Turn left into the Devon Valley Rd, immediately after you passed the Cape Saw Mills.
You will pass a small industrial area on your left.
Continue on for about 6km on the Devon Valley Rd and you will reach the hotel’s main
entrance on your right.
