Until Spector CNE (Corporate Network Edition), Internet monitoring meant recording web
sites your employees visited and perhaps blocking them from certain web sites.
Spector CNE adds a whole new dimension to Internet monitoring. Now you can record
everything your employees do online, including chats, instant messages, emails sent and
received, online searches, web sites visited, applications launched, network connections
established and bandwidth consumed, files downloaded, files copied to removable media,
and keystrokes typed. In addition, by taking screen snapshots, Spector CNE creates the
equivalent of a digital surveillance tape so that you can see the exact sequence of everything
your employees are doing on the computer.

Spector CNE has a collection of powerful recorders that capture: Emails, Chats/Instant Messages, Keystrokes, Web Sites Visited, Program
Activity and much more. Plus, the Screen Snapshot recorder allows you to visually review everything they do in exact order, step-by-step.
In addition to monitoring and recording, Spector CNE has an advanced Keyword Detection and Reporting system that will instantly
notify you when a PC user being monitored has deviated from acceptable use of the PC or Internet.
Screen Snapshot Recorder
Imagine a surveillance camera pointed directly at each PC on your company
network, filming all Internet and general PC activity, and storing this in a secure area
for later review. That is the idea behind the Snapshot Recorder tool in Spector CNE.
Spector CNE takes snapshots of whatever is on the computer screen – as often as
once per second and saves the recordings for you to view at any time.
Email Recorder
Spector CNE will stamp out abuse with cutting-edge email recording capabilities
designed to ensure that you have a clear record of all email being sent and received
from company computers.
Chat/Instant Message Recorder
Spector CNE ensures that Chat and Instant Messages are automatically recorded to
provide you with an information trail of every computer-based conversation that is
taking place within your company or between your company and your customers.
Keystroke Recorder
Spector CNE includes a sophisticated keystroke logger that saves keystrokes by
application, by date and time. All keystrokes typed, even hidden characters, are
captured and saved away.
Web Site Recorder
With Spector CNE’s advanced and intuitive Web Site recorder, you will get a quick
yet exact picture of each individual’s web surfing behavior. In addition to seeing
which sites they are visiting, you will be able to see exactly what they are doing on
those sites. Spector CNE also allows you to block specific web sites from being visited.

Advanced Stealth Protection
The Spector CNE Recorder can be placed into Stealth
Mode ensuring that the program cannot be detected
by unauthorized users. Once in Stealth Mode, Spector
CNE will not appear in the System Tray, Task Manager
or in the Add/Remove Program Menu.

Archive
Spector CNE automates the process of archiving and protecting your recordings by including a tool (the Data Vault) that will securely
store and organize your PC recordings on a network server. If you don’t have the ability to centralize to a server, the recordings can be
saved on each local computer and viewed remotely across your network.
Archive your recordings on the network using one of the following methods:
Single Network Server
The Data Vault is responsible for data storage
and security. It is installed in a secure location
on your network (computer or server).
Individual client computers will automatically
upload their recordings to the Data Vault
where the data is organized for effortless
retrieval and review, all while protecting the
recordings from tampering and unauthorized
access.
All recordings contained in the Data Vault
can be automatically retrieved and reviewed
across the network – eliminating the need to
physically visit each PC.
Multiple Network Servers
With Multiple Servers you can organize
your recordings by department, office floor,
building location or any other category you
choose.
This provides you with control over where
the data is stored on your network and offers
a method for segmenting Spector CNE data
storage. Each server has its own Data Vault.
Groups of PCs are then assigned to this server
group and will automatically upload their
recordings to the appropriate Data Vault.
The recordings in each server group can be
automatically retrieved and reviewed across
the network.

Data Backup
Regular backup of your Spector CNE recordings will ensure you have a complete historical record of everything that is occurring on your company PCs.
The Data Vault makes backup simple and uncomplicated by compiling all of your Spector CNE recordings in one place. Recordings are archived into a
single folder that is organized into subfolders for each computer that is being recorded. Any backup made to Tape, CD, DVD or other storage media can
be easily opened and viewed with any Spector CNE Viewer.
Data Security
Spector CNE implements two primary security standards to prevent unauthorized access to recordings: encryption and password protection.
All recordings are encrypted the moment they are captured. No matter where your recordings are archived (in the Data Vault, on CD or Tape backup,
etc...) they are always protected. Only Spector CNE can decrypt and open the data for viewing.
Additionally, IT administrators can assign a protection password to all recordings. Users are required to enter this password prior to viewing the data files.

Review
The Spector CNE Viewer is used to review the activity of any recorded PC. The recordings are retrieved from the Archive source, loaded
into the Viewer and organized by activity type (Screen Snapshots, Email, Chat/IM ... )
View Your Recordings Anywhere
Just as the Spector CNE recordings can be stored in one central
location, they can be reviewed from one central location from
any PC on the network using the Spector CNE Viewer.
Simply select which computer you wish to review. Spector CNE
automatically retrieves the recordings, wherever they are stored,
and displays that information on your computer monitor.
While the amount of recorded information can be substantial,
CNE organizes it in such a way that makes it easy and intuitive
for you to navigate down to the last detail.
The recorded data is sorted into two main categories - Internet
Activity and Computer Activity - then further organized with
tabs representing each of the recording tools.
Viewer - VCR-like Screen Snapshot Playback
Easy-to-use Tab Interface - Recorded Data is organized under tabs.
As an example: Click on Chat/IM, and you will see a one-line
summary of all chats and instant messages recorded each day.
Click on the summary and you will see the entire conversation.
You can review all email messages in a similar way. In addition
to recording corporate email messages in Outlook, Spector CNE
records webmail from AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo and more.
Viewer - Recorded Email (Sent & Received)
Reviewing the Screen Snapshot recordings is simple with easy
to use VCR-like controls. Move forward one screen at a time to
see step-by-step what they were doing on the computer, or
click “PLAY” and the snapshots play back like a video recording.
Skip ahead, instantly rewind, jump to a specific date and time
or even print individual snapshots.

Manage
Spector CNE includes a software tool called the Control Center, a standard Microsoft Management Console (MMC) Snap-In. The Control
Center allows you to remotely manage, configure and monitor all PCs on your office network. You never have to physically visit individual
PCs. By using the Windows MMC framework, Spector CNE will minimize your ongoing administration costs by providing simplicity,
consistency and integration across your existing network.

Managing deployment of Spector CNE in your organization
is a breeze. Each computer on your network can be sent a
hidden file that will initiate installation of the Spector CNE
Recorder. Installation occurs on the PC at the date and time
you specify and is completely undetectable by the user.
Likewise, the Recorder can be uninstalled transparently from
within the Control Center.
A built-in Deployment Utility is used to create configurations
for remote installations allowing you to predetermine which
elements of the Recorder are active upon installation and
fine-tune other settings. These configuration files can be
saved and reused as part of additional installations.

For instance, you may wish to only record email on one PC
while recording chat and instant messages on another.
With a single click, you can view which elements of the
