Greetings,
Here we are finally seeing some winter...But we can’t
complain as we finished out 2015 with a breeze!! We hope
this will end in March and make it a short Season!!
We have some great new classes, some featuring new
techniques, others building fun and delightful quilts....
of course some do BOTH!!
We are offering the “CLASS PASS” again this term!
For $199 you can sign up for as many classes as you wish.
(Club classes, all MQ classes, special guest teacher classes &
PMS are exempt) That means that after four classes, the rest
are free, ALL term! Call your Friends and make your plans!
Cook in quantity and freeze meals—Hire a house cleaner—you
are going to be sewing and quilting your little heart out! Think
of all that you can learn and you can meet new friends as well!
Study the schedule carefully and come check out the samples
as you decide what classes you will attend. There are many
great classes to keep you quilting and visiting with your
buddies too!! Most start in early February, so rest up, search
your stash and be ready, it will be a great season!

Curve Ruler, Modern and Contemporary but doable in any type of fabric. The blocks are 15” so they go together
quickly—a fun time to be had!! See it under the Club Classes.
I’m sorry I’m a wee bit late with Newsletter, but I just wanted you to salivate a bit more!! As well, be FOREWARNED we have just installed a new computer Point of Sale system, so registrations
as well as purchases will take a wee bit more time until we are familiar with all of it.

Off to a Great Start
Sue / Irene $80 including pattern (exempt from Class Pass)
Take your first step into the world of quilting, and don't look back.
Using a traditional four-patch block, this class will teach you the basics of
rotary cutting, strip piecing, borders, binding and basic machine quilting. NO
previous experience is needed, other than straight line sewing! This class will
give you comfort in making your first quilt and using the new equipment!

Quilting in Zentangles

Learn different free motion techniques to create quilting designs and
motifs to fill shapes. Get Crazy—and have some fun.
This is a technique class in which we explore many ways to fill simple
shapes with quilting. Starting with an apple and moving on to trees and
hearts.
You will have lots of opportunities to create beautiful quilted blocks
which can be used as pictures for the wall, card inserts, decorative
designs on bags or whatever else they can dream up.

Thread Play - Adding Dimension to your Quilt

The use of thread can often bring a project to life… the details
in a panel, eyes of an animal, mane of a horse, or petals and
leaves of your favourite flower.
Lynda has several samples in the shop that you can draw close to
your eye and examine closely. What makes it sparkle, the
threads, the stitch, the colours?
Lynda will help you see how it all comes together and help you to
find your Groove! It’s like painting with your needle and threads!

Sew Many Ways to Applique

To most of your classes, please bring:
Sewing machine, pedal and manual, basic sewing kit, seam ripper, threads, scissors, machine needles, quilting
pins, and Rotary cutter set, including mat, rulers and cutter! Optional: Quilting Gloves, Mini-Iron, 9 or 12” square
ruler.

To guarantee your place in class, payment must be received at registration.
If you cannot attend, you can ask a friend to take your place. There are NO REFUNDS on registration fees,
however if minimum enrollment is not met, we reserve the right to cancel the class with a full refund.
