T
HE WORD OF GOD is alive and powerful, sharper than
any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing
asunder of the soul and the spirit, and of the joints and the
marrow, and is a critic of thoughts and intents of the heart.
(Hebrews 4:12)
All Scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness;
that the man of God might be mature, thoroughly furnished
unto all good works. (2 Timothy 3:16–17)
Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that
needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
(2 Timothy 2:15)

AFTER SALVATION, WHAT?
YOU HAVE MADE THE MOST IMPORTANT DECISION of your life—at a moment in time you
believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior, the perfect Person judged as a substitute for your
sins. From that instant of faith alone in Christ alone, you have eternal life and share the
destiny of Christ.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten [uniquely born]
Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
(John 3:16)
Heaven is guaranteed to every believer (1 Peter 1:4–5). But the quality and impact of
the believer’s life on earth depend on his execution of God’s plan after salvation.
What is God’s plan for you following your personal faith in Christ? Learn and apply
Bible doctrine and advance to spiritual maturity. The Bible reveals God’s person and plan.
Bible doctrine is the content of the Word of God and is called the “mind of Christ”
(1 Corinthians 2:16). Doctrine communicates absolute truth and is designed to become the
measure or standard of your thinking.
When you learn who and what Christ is, you can begin to apply His thinking. God
commands you to think divine viewpoint “by the renewing of your mind” so that His
gracious purpose can be fulfilled in your life (Romans 12:2).
God’s purpose for you after salvation calls for spiritual growth.
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. (2 Peter
3:18)
You are kept alive on earth to fulfill your personal destiny—to become a mature believer
as an expression of God’s glory in both time and eternity. Only as a mature believer can
you consistently glorify God and receive the highest and best that He has prepared for you
(Ephesians 1:3–6).
You advance spiritually by consistently learning, thinking, and applying Bible
doctrine. Persistent intake and application of doctrine increase your capacity for life, for
love, for Christian service, for blessings, for happiness.
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand
in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our
Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and
authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. (Jude 24–25)

THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS
Scripture declares King Solomon “greater than all the kings of the earth in riches and
wisdom.” From an ivory throne overlaid with pure gold, he ruled the prosperous kingdom
of Israel. His majestic splendor and intellectual brilliance were known throughout the
ancient Near East. Vast treasures, costly goods, and rare novelties like apes and peacocks
enriched his noble court, yet in all this Solomon did not have happiness. Why not?
Somewhere along the line, Solomon forgot the divine source of his prosperity. A great
emptiness came into his life as he turned away from the Lord, and he embarked on a pursuit
of happiness to fill the spiritual void. Out of Solomon’s frantic and fruitless search comes a
compelling message for us: the message of the “apes and peacocks.” The peacock with his
strutting finery and the ape with his power represent every amusement, every diversion,
every possible attempt to find happiness apart from the plan of God. As Solomon eventually
discovered, only through fellowship with God and the pursuit of His Word can the believer
attain stability, contentment of soul, and a true and enduring happiness.

SALVATION BOOKS
THE BARRIER is impassable and insurmountable. No human
being can break through this obstruction. Mankind is born on the
wrong side of the barrier, hopelessly separated from any relationship
with God. God always knew that man through his negative volition
would alienate himself from his Creator, so in eternity past God the
Father designed a perfect plan to remove the barrier. He sent His
Son, Jesus Christ, to be judged for our sins on the cross, to bring
man from enmity to peace with God. And yet, even though Jesus
Christ removed the barrier, your relationship with God depends on
you. Only one issue remains: What do you think of Jesus Christ?
Only one decision separates you from God. If you believe in Christ, you cross the line of
separation and receive God’s gift of eternal life. [Basic Book #4]
THE BLOOD OF CHRIST links the New Testament with the Old
Testament. God ordained animal sacrifices in Israel to foreshadow
the saving work of the promised Messiah, and for hundreds of years,
the innocent animal symbolically bore the guilt of the sinner. When
Christ came as the reality, the promise was fulfilled. He became “the
Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” For some
believers, however, the blood of Christ has been associated with a
lifetime of emotional experiences. They have grown up with the idea
that there was a special power in the red liquid that circulated
through Jesus’ mortal body. This mysticism is not biblical! The
“blood of Christ” is a metaphor for His spiritual death in which He received the judgment
that removed the penalty of sin.
GOD’S PERFECT GIFT Have you ever received a beautiful Christmas
present, only to be disappointed? Even if the gift is just what you
wanted, the pleasure is fleeting. Yet, God has given you an eternal gift
that will never disappoint—a gift not just for Christmas or special
occasions, but for every day. This perfect gift is the unique Person of the
universe—the Lord Jesus Christ, who as our substitute sacrifice on the
cross paid for all the sins of all mankind. If you accept God’s perfect
gift, you will possess the greatest gift in all the world: eternal salvation
and a permanent relationship with God in time and eternity. “For God so
loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him will
not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16). [pocket-sized booklet]

HEATHENISM answers the questions, “What about those who
have never heard the good news of salvation? What about primitive
peoples who live far beyond the frontiers of civilization and speak in
obscure languages? What about those in any civilization or culture
who have never had the chance to hear the Gospel?” The reality is,
God never overlooks the positive volition of anyone. He provides
abundant evidence by which every individual can become aware of
His existence. He overcomes every obstacle to disseminate the
Gospel to those who seek Him. No one is hidden from His grace. His
divine attributes guarantee the provision of Gospel information
“even to the remotest part of the earth.” [Basic Book #10]
A MATTER OF LIFE & DEATH Until this moment you may not have
been aware that you were born under a sentence of death. You may think
of yourself as a ‘good person’ and feel that God would never condemn
you. But you are guilty, helpless to save yourself from this death
penalty. There is no ability you possess or any work you can perform to
redeem yourself. Only God can provide the way of eternal life. This
Gospel booklet presents the plan of salvation for the unbeliever.
Available in English and Spanish. [pocket-sized booklet]
THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS This poem by R. B. Thieme,
Jr., portrays the magnificent message of the first Christmas. To further
illuminate the noble purpose for the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ,
“seven truths” are recounted from Luke 2:7–20. This Christmas treasure
is a small booklet, ideal for enclosure in Christmas cards and gifts.
[pocket-sized booklet]
THE PLAN OF GOD reveals God’s provision for your salvation,
His purpose for your existence after salvation, and the treasures He
has waiting for your eternal future in heaven. The moment you
believe in Christ you immediately share His life and destiny. But to
attain the wonderful peace, happiness, and contentment God has
planned for your life on earth, you must learn Bible doctrine and
grow to spiritual maturity. The Bible communicates God’s Word so
that absolute truth becomes the measure of your conscience, the
source of your thinking, and the motivation of your life. Empowered
by the Holy Spirit and armed with Bible doctrine, you can fulfill
your destiny to glorify God. You can receive the highest and best He has provided.
8
Consistent spiritual growth from Bible doctrine in your soul creates capacity for life, for
love, for Christian service, for blessing, for happiness. God has devised the design of the
ages, the perfect plan for you personally. All you have to do is understand His gracious
offer and seize the incomparable opportunity for a life of meaning, purpose, and
definition. Available in English and Spanish. [Basic Book #1]
SLAVE MARKET OF SIN We think of ourselves as free, but we
are born in an inescapable slavery—bondage to sin. As members of
the human race we exist in a slave market of sin, helpless to redeem
ourselves. We enter the world with a sin nature, separated from God
and powerless to establish a relationship with Him. We have no way
to emancipate ourselves from the captivity of our inherited
depravity. However, the gracious plan of God for mankind calls for
a savior, a redeemer—the Lord Jesus Christ—to purchase our
freedom from the slave market. Christ is the only person qualified to
make such a purchase. The only requirement for eternal release from
the slave market of sin is faith alone in Christ alone. [Basic Book #3]
CHRISTIAN LIFE BOOKS
BETTER THINGS FOR CHRISTMAS is more than just a wonderful
salvation message for the unbeliever. For the believer whose Christmas
is filled with frantic frustration, disillusion, and misery, Better Things for
Christmas delineates just how to get back on the right track. God’s plan
for the believer is to live a life of perfect happiness and to have
Christmas every day, not just once a year. Better Things for Christmas
outlines the unique position of the Church Age believer and what God
has provided for him. Only when the believer appropriates this divine
provision by learning and applying the Word of God will he then have
inner peace, inner blessing, and inner happiness—the better things that make every day
Christmas. [pocket-sized booklet]
CHRISTIAN, AT EASE! Claim the promises of God, mix them with
faith, and enter into God’s rest. Bible promises encapsulate divine
thinking and give the believer confidence in God. In adversity or
prosperity, the believer can claim promises to stabilize his mind, recall
the Bible doctrine behind the promises, and reach doctrinal conclusions
that form the basis for a vigorous spiritual life. The Christian at ease has
learned to tap divine resources and find inner strength and happiness.
Available in English and Spanish. [pocket-sized booklet]
9
CHRISTIAN INTEGRITY is the strength of the advancing
believer. Integrity means wholeness of character, consistency of
word and deed, uncompromising adherence to a code of values.
Christian integrity comes from living by the Word of God. This
book presents the Christian way of life as a dynamic unity. Each
biblical command for the believer reveals an aspect of God’s grace,
but all His grace provisions function together as a single system of
power and love. By understanding God’s plan as an integrated
system, the believer can adhere to all God’s mandates. He can avoid
distortions that come from taking favorite biblical principles out of
their doctrinal context. No part or parts of God’s system will function effectively if
isolated from the system as a whole. The believer who lives within God’s system of power
and love has Christian integrity.
CHRISTIAN SUFFERING presents the biblical perspective on
suffering. Why do Christians experience pain, distress, and grief?
How does God convert cursing into blessing? These questions are
answered in detail from the Scriptures. Understanding God’s reasons
for suffering equips the believer to handle adversity. He learns to
identify and eliminate self-induced misery, which is by far the most
common form of human anguish. He also learns to avoid divine
punishment. Most important, he begins to comprehend the powerful
assets God has given him for solving problems. Consistent use of
these invisible problem-solving devices under pressure accelerates
his spiritual growth and glorifies God to the maximum. No suffering in life is too great for
the plan of God. The Christian must possess a thorough understanding of suffering to
persevere under pressure and advance to spiritual maturity.
DIVINE GUIDANCE is the doctrine of determining God’s will for
your life. God guides you by communicating His will through divine
revelation. No believer can know or do the will of God apart from
knowing the Word of God. The Bible reveals numerous mandates
that universally declare what the will of God is and is not for every
believer. The other intentions God has for your individual life that
are not directly stated in Scripture must be determined from Bible
doctrine in your soul. From the application of Bible doctrine you
will resolve what God wants you to think, what He wants you to do,
and where He wants you to go. Spiritual growth and maturity supply
confidence that you will know God’s design at any time and under every circumstance of
life. [Basic Book #11]

DYING GRACE Life hangs by a slender thread that can be snapped
at any moment. Does that thought frighten you? Cause you dread
and panic? God did not design dying to be horrible or frightening for
the believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. To the contrary, God designed
your dying moments to be the best, the sweetest part of living. In
dying grace, He graciously supplies every need to make this a time
of supreme happiness and tranquillity, as you anticipate meeting the
Lord of Glory face to face. Your dying moments are highly valuable
to God because they are His final opportunity to honor His infallible
Word in your soul. Bestowing dying grace demonstrates His divine
approval. With Bible doctrine, you appreciate all the fantastic blessings of dying grace so
that your dying moments are glorifying to God.
THE FAITH-REST LIFE Faith-rest is the life of peace designed
for you as a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. This life is
characterized by a moment-by-moment tranquillity, happiness, and
stability. But how can you have this perfect rest when you are
surrounded by pressure, adversity, and disaster? God wants you to
do only one thing—trust Him! Believe His Word! Mix the promises
from the Bible with faith! If you trusted Him for the greatest thing
He could ever provide—salvation, then you can trust Him for the
lesser things—solutions to your problems. When you use the
faith-rest technique, you stand on the solid ground of the Word of
God. Bible doctrine becomes a living reality in every experience. No matter what happens
to you, no matter how difficult your problems, you have “the peace of God which passes
all understanding.” [Basic Book #7]
FOLLOW THE COLORS Down through the ages, military
organizations employed various types of flags, or “colors,” around
which soldiers could rally amidst the confusion of combat. The
battle cry, “Follow the colors!” became the command to strike a
mortal blow against the enemy, to fight and attain the high
ground—the place of victory. Jesus Christ, the Supreme
Commander, leads His battalions into spiritual warfare. He unfurls
the regimental colors of Bible doctrine and calls for the royal
regiment of the family of God to follow. With knowledge of Bible
doctrine resident in the soul, the believer charges onto the battlefield
of the angelic conflict. Wherever the colors lead, the believer who follows will secure
spiritual victory on the high ground and accrue fantastic rewards in eternity.

GIVING: GIMMICK OR GRACE? Giving is an expression of
worship that commemorates God’s grace. Grace is all that God can
do for man and still be consistent with His own character. We are
saved by grace, we live by His grace, and we give by His grace.
Grace giving meets divine standards and glorifies God. Grace giving
requires the filling of the Holy Spirit and reflects grace orientation,
Bible doctrine resident in the soul, and virtue love. Without these
spiritual motivations, giving has no spiritual value. All too often
Christian giving is coerced by guilt, emotionalism, or peer pressure.
Two chapters in 2 Corinthians are the most extensive passages of
Scripture on the concept of giving. This book focuses on these chapters which present
aspects of God’s grace, define correct motivation and mental attitude for giving, and
illustrate grace giving in the early church.
IN WHOM DO YOU TRUST? The cover
design depicts the spectrum from virtue to
degradation that drives the cycles of every
civilization throughout history: the rise from
bondage to freedom and the fall back to
bondage. Each figure represents Dean Clarence
Manion’s ten-word portrait of the cycle of
civilization. The only hope for reaching and
maintaining the pinnacle of human existence is
to have faith and trust in the living hope, the
Lord Jesus Christ.
LAURA KAY’S LEGACY “Sweet little Laura Kay” was called to
her eternal home on 3 November 1998. Although classified as
physically and mentally handicapped, her life is proof that there are
no spiritual handicaps in the Christian way of life. Her biography is
a tribute to the grace of God: saving grace, living grace, dying grace,
and eternal grace. Laura Kay was content to follow the destiny God
had assigned to her. She worked for R. B. Thieme, Jr., Bible
Ministries for twenty-four years loyally and faithfully performing
her daily tasks as unto the Lord. She loved the Lord and this gave
her His happiness and a remarkable capacity to love people—she
had friends all over the world!

MEMORIAL TRIBUTE is an edited transcript of a memorial
service given by R. B. Thieme, Jr., as Pastor of Berachah Church.
Anytime God removes a person from this life, the decision is based
on His perfect wisdom and integrity. Those of us left behind can
rejoice in the knowledge that the departed believer is in a state of
perfect happiness with the Lord. Furthermore, the death of a loved
one is often a reminder of the shortness of time we have on this
earth. By making the greatest decision of our life—choosing to
believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior—we can be prepared for
eternity.
MENTAL ATTITUDE DYNAMICS Behind
every face is a mental attitude, a manner of
thinking. You are what you think! God mandates
that you think divine viewpoint—the mind of
Christ—a perspective of life based on the
infallible Word of God. When Bible doctrine is
the foundation of your thinking, you will have
confidence and stability under all circumstances,
an orientation to grace, an inner happiness that
produces capacity for life, love, and blessing,
and a relaxed mental attitude toward people. [Basic Book #9]
PRAYER is the great weapon of the spiritual life! Through prayer
you have instant access to the throne room of God to communicate
directly with God the Father. But to pray effectively, you must know
how to pray. God has established basic ground rules to follow.
Armed with these procedures, you will be able to confidently
approach the throne of grace and express gratitude to God, intercede
on behalf of others, and petition for your own personal needs. God
has mandated you to “pray without ceasing.” Wielding the power of
prevailing prayer, you have the opportunity to support those in need;
to participate in the ministries of pastors, missionaries, and
evangelists; to sustain and deliver the nation. God answers prayer in fantastic ways, but
always so that His will and plan might be fulfilled. [Basic Book #12]

PSALM TWENTY-THREE The comforting words of the familiar
twenty-third Psalm resound through the centuries. Written by David in
his darkest despair, this song of hope holds a treasure of God’s grace and
provision for all believers. David faced a revolution led by his beloved
son Absalom. Forced to flee for his life, he relied on the true Source of
his security and prosperity—the Lord Jesus Christ. David’s journey
through the death-shadowed valley gives us insight into how a mature
believer endures suffering in disaster and triumphs over his enemies.
Like David, the believer who pursues Bible doctrine and advances to
spiritual maturity will be rewarded with blessing and prosperity in time and in eternity.
“The Lord is the one who keeps on shepherding me,” David wrote, “I cannot and do not
lack anything.” [pocket-sized booklet]
THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS Scripture declares King Solomon
“greater than all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.” From
an ivory throne overlaid with pure gold, Solomon ruled the
prosperous kingdom of Israel. Vast treasures, costly goods, and rare
novelties like apes and peacocks enriched his noble court. Yet
Solomon did not have happiness. The Pursuit of Happiness confirms
that only through fellowship with God and the pursuit of His Word
can the believer attain stability, contentment of soul, and a true and
enduring happiness.
A QUARTETTE OF FOOLS There is no more beautiful sound in all
the world than four people blending their voices in perfect harmony.
Conversely, the most lugubrious ululations emanate from voices clashing
in a discord of sound. Such is the quartette of fools: the atheist fool, the
rich fool, the shameless fool, and the Christian fool. Three members
cannot sing, cannot harmonize, yet the fourth produces the finest harmony in the world! Find out where you fit into this quartette. [pocketsized booklet]
REVERSIONISM Why do believers sometimes act like
unbelievers? Are they truly saved? Yes, if they have believed in
Jesus Christ they are saved for all eternity. But any Christian who
habitually revolts against God’s plan is in reversionism—spiritual
decadence brought on by perpetual carnality and rejection or neglect
of Bible doctrine. Reversionism explains why believers emulate
unbelievers. In reversionism sin becomes a way of life, yet God in
His grace always provides the way of recovery. Avoid the pitfalls of
reversionism through rebound and consistent spiritual growth. With
Bible doctrine in your soul you can distinguish between human
14
viewpoint, the expression of Satan’s diabolical genius, and divine viewpoint, the
manifestation of the thinking of Christ. Instead of retreating in reversionism, advance and
reach the objective, the supergrace life!
TONGUES will cease. Distortions have permeated contemporary
Christianity making this one of the most controversial statements in
the Bible. Millions of believers today profess to speak a language
they do not understand, claiming a manifestation of the baptism of
the Holy Spirit and evidence of a superior relationship with God.
The animation and enthusiasm of their displays have infiltrated
denominations and sects throughout the Christian world. The
spiritual gift of tongues, prophesied by Isaiah, was designed for a
specific divine purpose—a warning sign to Israel of impending
national destruction. This gift, bestowed by the Holy Spirit on the
Day of Pentecost A.D. 30, would be an unmistakable sign of Israel’s spiritual failure and
imminent divine judgment and would also herald the new Church Age. But this spiritual
gift is not operational today. The final authority for resolving the theological conundrum
of tongues is the infallible Word of God. Subjective thinking and emotionalism mislead
and obscure the truth of Bible doctrine. Only the pertinent passages from Scripture,
correctly translated and accurately interpreted, can reveal to the believer the truth about
tongues.
VICTORY OVER DEATH The greatest decision we can make is the
one that prepares us for death and dying—the decision to personally
believe in Jesus Christ for eternal salvation. Therefore, when a Christian
loved one dies, we celebrate the death of that believer as a victory.
Death is God’s victory. He gives that victory to us by determining the
time, the manner, and the place of our death. God’s decision to take a
believer home is always fair and timely. This edited transcript provides
comfort from the Scripture and the reassurance that Jesus Christ Himself
has provided victory over death. Available in two sizes: a pocket-sized booklet, ideal for
enclosure in sympathy cards and letters, and a full-sized book, suitable for memorial or
funeral services.
WITNESSING is the declaration of the good news of salvation, the
Gospel of Jesus Christ, to the unbelieving world. But is this responsibility and privilege reserved solely for the pastor, missionary, and
evangelist? Definitely not! Every believer is responsible for
presenting the Gospel to a lost and dying world. What do you tell
unbelievers about Christ? You must explain what He accomplished
on the cross and how anyone can receive this incomparable gift. Your
guiding principle is faith alone in Christ alone. You are the point of
contact in the unbeliever’s search for meaning and purpose in life.
15
Without faith in Christ and an eternal future, his life is ultimately meaningless. When a
loved one, a friend, or even a stranger believes in Christ as Savior from your presentation
of the Gospel, you will experience the inexpressible reward of serving our Lord through
witnessing. [Basic Book #13]
SPIRITUALITY BOOKS
GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT vs. THE SIN NATURE is a ceaseless
inner conflict. Each Christian by his own volition determines who
controls his life at any moment. The sin nature is inherent at birth.
As long as we live we retain this genetic distorter of our lives, with
the result that we cannot fulfill the plan of God. Yet God’s
marvelous plan can be fulfilled. Through the invisible ministry of
God the Holy Spirit we can execute the Christian way of life. This
book tells the dramatic story of Elijah in 1 Kings 19. After a
powerful spiritual victory, he flees in terror because of an empty
threat against his life. The spiritual hero becomes totally ineffective.
This Old Testament prophet vividly illustrates a principle that applies to every New
Testament believer: there is a vast difference between living under the control of the sin
nature and leading a life of spiritual dynamics under the control of the Holy Spirit. [Basic
Book #8]
ISOLATION OF SIN breaks the vicious cycle of carnality
shackling many believers to their past failures. God’s grace solution
for the believer’s sin is rebound, privately confessing or naming sins
to God the Father. Rebound instantaneously accomplishes divine
forgiveness, recovery of the Holy Spirit, and restoration to
fellowship with God. Yet many believers immediately fall out of
fellowship, caught in reaction, guilt, and a chain of mental, verbal,
or overt sins. As their frustration mounts, carnality seems
overwhelming. How do you break this cycle? Disengage yourself
from forgiven sin! When God forgives a sin, it no longer belongs
to you. Do not reclaim the burden! God has blotted out your sin! Feeling guilty,
habitually looking backward, worrying, or chronic self-reproach only perpetuates your
status in carnality. When you isolate your sins by “forgetting those things which are
past,” you can “press on” to the high ground of spiritual maturity in your Christian life.
[Basic Book #6]
16
THE PRODIGAL SON leaves home and squanders his inheritance
in riotous living. His elder brother stays home and works hard. When
the prodigal returns and is restored to his father, the elder brother
becomes petty, jealous, bitter, and resentful. Despite their different
paths into carnality, their sins cannot remove them from the
circumstances of their birth. Once a son, always a son! As a “born
again” believer, whether you sin like the prodigal or like the elder
brother, you remain a permanent member of the family of God, but
you lose your temporal fellowship with God. To remedy this rift,
God has provided a simple, grace procedure—rebound—so that your
postsalvation sins are forgiven and you can recover fellowship and move on in the
Christian life. Jesus taught the parable of the prodigal son to an audience of self-righteous
legalists who reviled the profligate prodigal and praised the holier-than-thou elder brother.
Yet they entirely missed the message! Everyone who believes in Christ by faith alone is a
permanent son of God. Once a family member, any believer can reclaim his Christian life
from carnality and be restored to fellowship with God. [Basic Book #14]
REBOUND & KEEP MOVING! is the key that unlocks the
Christian way of life. After salvation the sin nature remains a
relentless adversary, tempting the believer to sin and live in
carnality. When the believer sins, fellowship with God is destroyed,
the filling of the Holy Spirit is temporarily lost, and spiritual
progress ceases. Rebound is the simplest yet most incredible concept
in the spiritual life. Rebound defeats sin. Guilt, anguish, remorse
over past failures vanish knowing that God forgives and forgets all
past sins. Rebound is our access to intimacy with the Lord, the
gateway to divine power in our lives, our license to serve the Lord.
Rebound opens the door to the wonderful freedom the grace of God offers to every
believer in Jesus Christ. Available in English and Spanish. [Basic Book #5]
REBOUND REVISITED explores the divine directive for dealing
with personal sin after salvation and regaining momentum in the
spiritual life. The Apostle Paul, above all men, completely
understood the importance of rebound, naming his sins privately to
God the Father. Yet at one point, even Paul allowed his feelings to
supersede his knowledge of God’s wonderful plan of recovery. He
was mired in human viewpoint and human solutions until he finally
set aside his emotion, utilized the rebound technique, and resumed
his advance in the spiritual life. Rebound is the divine solution for
recovering fellowship with God. Never a work on the part of the
believer, rebound reveals the majestic grace of God. God does all the work. He requires no
17
emotional purging, agonizing, godly sorrow, penance, or faith. Recovery from sin and
regaining fellowship with God result only when the believer follows the gracious mandate
of 1 John 1:9.
GOD’S ESSENCE BOOKS
THE INTEGRITY OF GOD assures mankind that absolute trust in
perfect God is always well-placed. The unbending strength of God’s
essence is fully behind everything He does or sponsors. All the
attributes of His essence form one consistent, indivisible whole—His
total person—and each attribute works together in complete
harmony for the ultimate good of the believer. God has always
possessed integrity as part of His eternal, infinite, perfect essence.
The Integrity of God defines God’s integrity and how it operates in
behalf of each Christian, from our salvation to our spiritual life to
our rewards in heaven. Understanding this biblical doctrine clarifies
the purpose of our lives and explains our magnificent relationship with the God of
righteousness and justice.
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS Who was this Jesus
Christ? Why was this innocent man put to death? Jesus was
undiminished deity while humbling Himself as true humanity in one
person. He came to die as our substitute, the perfect sacrifice for sinful
man—the only way of salvation. He is the unique person of the
universe, King of kings and Lord of lords! Delineated in this book are
the six trials of Christ, His phenomenal character and strength in the
face of agonizing torture, His work as Mediator between God and
man, and the significance of His resurrection. He is now seated at the
right hand of God the Father in heaven. One day He will reign over
the entire world and we, as believers in Christ, will be a part of His magnificent kingdom.
THE TRINITY is a doctrine unique to Christianity. No other faith,
religion, sect, or philosophy that advocates one God also proclaims
that God is Three-in-One. This apparent paradox does not mean
there are ‘three gods in one,’ but that one God exists as three persons
who are coequal, coinfinite, and coeternal, all possessing the same
essential nature. God is one in essence, but three in persons. The
Trinity is not abstract theology but a practical doctrine that you
should comprehend. Your understanding of the plan God the Father
has designed for you illuminates your destiny in time and eternity.
18
Your understanding of the person and work of Jesus Christ illuminates your so-great
salvation. Your understanding of the Holy Spirit affects your concept of living the
Christian life. Only by perceiving the true biblical perspective of the Trinity can you come
to love God, grow spiritually, and fulfill your very own spiritual life. [Basic Book #2]
THE UNFAILING LOVE OF GOD The Bible declares that “God
is love”—a simple yet significant statement revealing that love is
what God is as well as what He does. Do you have a full
understanding of the depth and magnitude of this love? Or is your
conception of His infinite divine love merely based on your own
limited concept of human love? The love of God provides your
salvation, motivates your growth to spiritual maturity, and secures
your glorious, eternal future with Him. God’s plan for your life is
based on His unfailing, unconditional love. He always deals with
you in love. He loves you even though you are unattractive,
unlovable, and undeserving. As your understanding and appreciation of the love of God
grows, you learn to reciprocate that love. Reciprocating His love increases your capacity
to love in your own soul and to sustain extraordinary relationships with other people.
HISTORY AND PROPHECY BOOKS
THE ANGELIC CONFLICT rages around us. This is not a world
war. This is a war beyond the world—an invisible warfare between
the forces of Satan and the forces of God. Long before the advent
of human history, Satan arrogantly rebelled against his Creator. He
wanted to make himself “like the Most High” and recruited
one-third of the angels to follow him. When God justly condemned
Satan and his fallen angels, Satan appealed the sentence—
questioning how a loving God could cast His creatures into hell.
Planet Earth is now the battleground where Satan seeks to prove the
judgment unfair and foil the execution of his sentence. Through the
freewill decisions of mankind, God proves to Satan His perfect justice and love again and
again. As believers, it is imperative we understand the spiritual warfare that surrounds us.
Satan uses every ruse at his command to derail and discredit those who are in Christ, but
God has provided for our defense an overwhelming advantage in a powerful suit of
spiritual armor. With it we can withstand the “flaming missiles of the evil one” and
become heroes in the invisible war.
19
ANTI-SEMITISM is a masterstroke of treacherous evil. Endless
Jewish persecutions verify Satan-inspired antagonism toward God’s
elect people. History authenticates the devastating effect of such
virulent bigotry, while the biblical portrayal of this heinous
intolerance presents the divine perspective and solution. Old and
New Testament passages outline the plan of God for the Jew
throughout human history. In the unconditional covenants to Israel,
God guarantees that the Jew will survive despite cruel treatment.
Therefore, He condemns anti-Semitism as a contradiction to His
sovereign will and purpose. No one should ever be guilty of this
insidious prejudice. Divine judgment and utter ruin are the ultimate destiny of individuals
or nations that practice anti-Semitism—in the past, present, and future.
ARMAGEDDON On a day yet future, Israel will be the focal point
of the last, most terrifying conflagration the world has ever seen.
Armageddon is truly the war to end all wars! Because of the unique
promises of God to Israel, Satan has sponsored hostility toward the
Jews throughout history. In a final act of malevolence, he brings
together four great, satanically-inspired, gentile empires to annihilate
this tiny nation. Israel is surrounded, cut off, caught in a hopeless
military situation by these vast armies. The Jews have only one
salvation. Their Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ, will return to earth
to fight for them. In triumph He will defeat the forces arrayed
against Israel, depose Satan as the ruler of this world, establish His millennial kingdom,
and fulfill His covenants with Israel.
CANONICITY vividly describes the divine inspiration that
produced the Bible. As the revelation of God, the Bible is the most
widely read, most influential, and most enduring book ever
published. Canonicity answers many perplexing questions: How was
the Bible preserved through the centuries? Is the Apocrypha actually
a part of the Word? What about the Dead Sea Scrolls? For the
student of Bible doctrine, a knowledge of the historical formation of
the Word of God is a source of strength to defend against the
numerous attacks upon the authenticity and authority of the Bible.

DANIEL CHAPTERS ONE THROUGH SIX In every age, God’s
plan for humanity includes certain ordinary people who do the
extraordinary: they impact history and glorify God by using divine
solutions to overcome adversity. What enables these remarkable
believers to exhibit virtue and courage in a crisis? They trust in the
Lord and fortify their souls with Bible doctrine. Daniel was such a
man. Under the intense pressure of catastrophe, his faithfulness and
dependence on the Lord distinguished him as a man with a noble
purpose in life. God uses prepared believers, and this Jewish
aristocrat was spiritually prepared to transform the Chaldean and
Persian Empires into citadels of stability and honor in the ancient world. Devoted service
and promotion to high office in both Chaldea and Persia placed Daniel in the unique
position to further advance the plan of God for Israel. He was truly a man for the crisis.
Throughout monumental adversity Daniel never once wavered from divine viewpoint. His
life exemplified that any believer armed with Bible doctrine in the soul can do the
extraordinary in the midst of human disaster.
THE DIVINE OUTLINE OF HISTORY: DISPENSATIONS
AND THE CHURCH The divine outline of history is etched in time
and explained in the Word of God. God unfolds His plan for
mankind as a sequence of historical epochs. Unique characteristics
identify each period as a distinct administration or “dispensation” of
divine grace. God Himself never changes. His successive
dispensations achieve His unchanging purpose, revealing Himself
and His perfect glory in every human situation. This book casts a
dramatic light on Jesus Christ, the focal point of human history.
Biblical mandates for the current epoch, the Age of the Church,
clarify the Christian’s role in history and his unique opportunity for glorifying Christ.
FREEDOM THROUGH MILITARY VICTORY Can a believer
in Jesus Christ serve his country as a soldier, kill the enemy, and at
the same time be a good Christian? Can a believer justify being a
conscientious objector? Did God contradict Himself in the
commandments, “You shall not murder” and “You shall defeat them,
then you shall utterly destroy them”? The Bible answers these critical
questions. God established a principle by which a nation may guard
its sovereignty, maintain its freedom, and protect its citizenry from
the horrors of conquest by a foreign power. An alert and stalwart
military force averts armed conflict and deters wanton aggression.
Yet when an enemy aggressor will not be deterred, the military must defend and protect
those who cannot defend themselves. Those in military service who place a higher value on
21
their families, friends, and nation than on their own lives ensure the survival of our
cherished liberty. Just as the Lord Jesus Christ made the greatest sacrifice of all history on
the cross—dying so that mankind might have eternal life—so the military warriors
sacrifice their time, their fortunes, and sometimes their lives that others might live in
freedom.
IN HARM’S WAY This message is dedicated to the men and women in
the military who are on active duty. The present crises in the Middle
East remind us once again that military service is honorable and a part of
full-time Christian service. God has ordained and given us wonderful
principles of doctrine related to freedom through military victory and the
maintenance of peace by military deterrent. In World Wars I and II, the
Blue Star Service Banner was proudly displayed in the windows of the
homes of those serving in the United States armed forces. Each family
member in the service was represented by a single star. The banner
served as a constant reminder of those in foreign lands fighting to preserve our freedom.
[pocket-sized booklet]
LEVITICAL OFFERINGS depicted the person and work of Christ
before He “became flesh and tabernacled among us.” The Jewish
rituals revealed in the Old Testament give us a new appreciation of
our magnificent Savior. Why is He the “Lamb of God”? Why is His
saving work called the “blood of Christ”? Five Levitical offerings
instituted in Leviticus 1—6 teach vital doctrines concerning our
so-great salvation and the mechanics of recovering temporal
fellowship with God after committing sin. Generation upon
generation of believers learned Bible doctrine from these dramatic
ceremonies, and as we view our Lord’s work from this ancient
perspective, we increase our own understanding of God’s Word.
SATAN AND DEMONISM Before the beginning of human history,
Satan and his angels instigated a conflict in the spiritual realm that
continues to this very moment. The drama of this spiritual warfare
storms across the pages of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
Mankind was created to resolve this ancient conflict, but Satan and
the unseen demon hordes he commands will not suffer defeat
without an intense struggle. One tactic Satan employs is the varied
facets of demon activity, which have plagued mankind since the fall
of Adam. Demonism blinds unbelievers to the Gospel, distracts
22
believers from the spiritual life, and threatens nations with divine judgment. Those who
are ignorant or confused about Satan’s subtle strategies become easy prey. The Bible
emphatically warns against courting or consorting with any form of demonism. Critical
questions continually arise: How do people become enmeshed in demonism? What is
demon influence? Who can be demon possessed? Is exorcism valid? How can the believer
protect himself from the demonic? Only the Bible can answer these questions and
eliminate the confusion.
VICTORIOUS PROCLAMATION History’s most unique
testimony to the Gospel occurred shortly after Jesus Christ rose from
the grave. Christ embarked on a remarkable journey to make
“proclamation to the spirits in prison.” Who were these spirits? Why
and where were they incarcerated? The spirits were the “sons of
God” of Genesis 6, Satan’s minions, who waged war in the
antediluvian civilization to prevent the advent of Jesus Christ
through whom God would fulfill His promise of salvation. When
God judged the earth with a worldwide flood, He imprisoned these
transgressing demons in Tartarus. Jesus Christ’s pronouncement of
His victory on the cross resounded against the gates of hell. The resurrected Christ was
visible proof to the incarcerated demons of the utter failure and defeat of Satan’s strategy.
Jesus Christ had paid the penalty for sin so that anyone can express faith in Him and enter
into a relationship with God for all eternity.
CREATION BOOKS
CREATION, CHAOS, & RESTORATION Who has not gazed at
the stars on a clear night and wondered at the origin of the universe?
Who has not marveled at the order and precise workings of our own
planet and pondered its cause? Finally, the most profound mystery
of all: How did life begin? Did our complex, orderly universe simply
explode into existence by chance alone? Did lifeless matter
accidentally spawn living organisms over millions of years, or was
everything created instantly by an omnipotent designer? Only the
infallible Word of God accurately answers these questions. God
instantly created the heavens and the earth. This pristine earth,
originally occupied by the angels, became a chaotic ruin following Satan’s revolt against
God. In grace God restored the planet in six days for human habitation. Learn the divine
account of the origin of the universe and the human race in Creation, Chaos, and
Restoration.
23
THE ORIGIN OF HUMAN LIFE has kindled intense debate for
centuries. How did the human race originate? Did God provide the
initial spark of life to Adam then entrust the continuation of that life
to mankind? Or does God still breathe the “breath of life” into every
human being? If so, when? At conception, during pregnancy, or at
physical birth? The Origin of Human Life addresses these complex
questions and pertinent biblical verses. Some passages appear to be
contradictory only because they are misunderstood. Only the
Scriptures can resolve the mystery of when human life begins.

A PRAYER FOR AMERICA was offered by Pastor Thieme during the
aftermath of the terrorist attack on the United States of America, 11
September 2001. Our country needs prayer (2 Chronicles 7:14). These
are words of effective, powerful prayer based upon the principles of the
Word of God.
THE PRAYER FOR ETERNAL LIFE is dedicated to anyone without
Christ, without hope, without eternal life. Jesus Christ had you
personally in mind when He went to the cross. Every sin that you have

CHILDREN’S BOOKS
CHILDREN’S BIBLE STUDIES contain a treasure-trove of ideas for parents and
teachers looking for ways to communicate Bible doctrine at a child’s level of
understanding. These doctrines are taught through a series of stories that introduce the
child to technical theological vocabulary and doctrinal concepts. God mandates the parent
to study and learn Bible doctrine. Using their own doctrinal frame of reference,
personality, and approach, parents can then fulfill their responsibility to God to teach their
children the Word (Deut. 6:6–7). Bible doctrine as a way of life is the most valuable
heritage parents can give their children (2 John 4).
VOLUME ONE: WHAT GOD WANTS ME TO KNOW covers
the doctrines of sin and salvation and defines the most basic
instructions and techniques for living the Christian way of life.
Stories and beginning vocabulary help the young child to understand
that Christianity is a personal relationship with God through Jesus
Christ. Recommended for ages 5 and up.
VOLUME TWO: WHAT IS GOD LIKE? covers two main
subjects: the authenticity of the canon of Scripture and the essence
of God. The first lessons establish in the child’s mind that the Bible
is the very Word of God. The following lessons explain what God is
like through the doctrine of divine essence. Each divine attribute is
presented emphasizing the essence and oneness of the Godhead.
Recommended for ages 6 and up.
VOLUME THREE: THE PERSONS OF THE GODHEAD
begins with a review of the essence of God as taught by the animals.
These stories from the Bible use animal behavior, instinct, and
characteristics to teach the lessons of salvation, humility, obedience,
and faithfulness to God’s Word. With these doctrines refreshed in
his mind, the child is ready to learn about the Trinity. Each member
of the Godhead is presented from His distinct role and His relation to
the eternal will and plan of God. Recommended for ages 7 and up.
25
VOLUME FOUR: GOD’S PLAN OF SALVATION is an
intensified look at the entire scope of soteriology, teaching the
necessity, plan, and purpose of salvation. This series also includes a
fascinating study on the subject of angels: scriptural documentation
to their reality and purpose in the plan of God, the types of angels,
and what roles they play. The final chapters of the book teach the
story of Jonah to provide a deeper understanding and appreciation of
God’s love and grace toward sinners, so that the child may see his
own place and responsibility within the plan of God. Recommended
for ages 8 and up.
TRAIN UP A CHILD . . . CHILDREN’S BIBLE STUDIES
SOURCE BOOK is a companion resource for the children’s book
series. It includes curriculum guidelines, sample lesson plans,
teaching aid suggestions, a comprehensive research guide, and a
glossary. The curriculum is a ‘nuts and bolts’ outline of Bible
doctrines to “train up a child in the way he should go” (Prov. 22:6a).
The sample lesson plans demonstrate how to develop a subject.
Teaching aid suggestions are a starting point for creative presentations. Publications and recordings of lessons by R. B. Thieme, Jr.,
and Bible verses are referenced as research material. The glossary is a collection of
familiar terms. Designed for parents and teachers of children of all ages.
DAVID THE BRAVE SHEPHERD David’s defeat of Goliath has
inspired and motivated believers since the time of ancient Israel.
David’s faith in the Word of God and his courage in the face of
impossible odds make him an Old Testament hero with a lesson for
all of us. Children are especially enthralled with the power of
believing God’s Word and applying it to their problems. The
coloring book David the Brave Shepherd is out of print but available
for download at www rbthieme.org. An audio version to accompany
the coloring book is available on the audio book on MP3 CD
collection Children’s Audio Studies. Recommended for ages 4 and up.
THE GREAT ADVENTURE provides a foundation for parents to
begin teaching their children how to face and solve the problems and
adversities of life. God has given us the solution to all problems in
Bible doctrine. Just as with salvation, learning and using doctrine
does not depend on intelligence, age, culture, talent, or human
abilities, but on God’s grace. If a four-year-old can believe in Jesus
Christ as Savior, then he can learn, think, and use Bible doctrine.
Recommended for ages 4 and up.

SELECTED DVD STUDY
Moses: Courage in Crisis (1990) (from Ephesians series) Moses was the most exceptional
leader in human history. He had no affinity for conceit or vanity. Humility was the essence
of his nobility. Under his command, two million people with all their possessions trekked,
lived in, and lamented the desert for forty years. The defiant and rebellious nation afforded
interminable adversity to Moses. They criticized him, they complained to him, they hit the
panic button in his presence. Yet Moses believed the Lord in the crisis! He trusted the
Lord moment by moment. Moses believed it when He said, “Do not fear! Stand by and see
the salvation of the LORD which He will accomplish for you today” (Ex. 14:13). For the
believer today, Moses presents a portrait in patience and endurance. (Ephesians, series
412, lessons 1302–1359, DVD numbers 259–274).

NEW RELEASE: Blessing in Suffering No suffering in life is too
great for the plan of God. In fact, God intends for us to have blessing
in the very midst of suffering. The pain, the heartaches, the
difficulties of life are designed to stretch us beyond our human
resources and confront us with our total dependence on the grace of
God. They direct our attention to the things that are important in
life—fellowship with God, learning the Word, growing in grace.
When in suffering we draw upon the doctrinal resources in our souls
and use the assets God has given us, we realize that God is “our
refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Ps. 46:1). Our love for Him grows
stronger, we develop perseverance and confidence in the spiritual life, and a higher plane
of spiritual growth is achieved.
