"Just One Goal..."
I trust that each of you had a Merry Christmas and are looking
forward to our new year together! As we think about our upcoming year, and as many of us contemplate New Year's resolutions, I believe it's important to consider our spiritual life and in
particular - our walk with Christ.
What one goal could you accomplish in 2015 that would make
your life better? Perhaps it is a habit that you have been trying
to get rid of for years? Maybe your goal could be to restore a certain relationship? Or
maybe it is a relationship that needs to end? Maybe your goal is to end your family's
personal debt?
JANUARY 2015
Sometimes the goals can seem overwhelming when you consider them all at one
time. For most of us there is a plethora of goals that we need to accomplish in order to
have that life that God has always wanted for us. Notice what I just wrote: "to have
that life that God has always wanted for us." Many of us are journeying in this life trying to have the life that we have always wanted. Pursuing our dreams may lead to our
personal happiness, but it will not bring us joy.
Let us focus on just one goal for 2015. Would it not be great at the end of this coming
year to be able to proclaim, we have restored a relationship or we have ended our personal debt? What an accomplishment! No matter what your goal is, have a plan, and
commit to pursuing it so that it will be accomplished. Remember Philippians 4:13--"I
can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."
May God bless each of you, and I look forward to our year together.
Love,
Pastor Todd
