Competing Worldwide Sinaloa is recognized in Mexico and abroad for its leadership in the nation´s food production, for the volume and quality of its fish, meat and agricultural products and for its recreational and business tourist destinations. Currently Sinaloa is diversifying its economic sectors towards industrialization, biotechnology, information technologies and international logistics, by building strategic infrastructure within its territory for the economic development of the nation, with historical investments of over 6 billion dollars. In the Tourism sector, the Federal Government is building the largest resort project of the last 20 years, with a direct investment of 925 million dollars, that will be the detonator to attract private investment capital for 13 billion dollars. Industrial companies have the option to choose between power rates Depending of their needs and sector. There have been identified 29 sites that present a big opportunity to install small hydroelectric (minihydro) plants.
