Sinaloa

Playa Espíritu
The largest investment ever over the last
20 years in Mexico, in urban
infrastructure for a tourist resort, is now
being developed in Sinaloa.
It is being built on 2,381 hectares along the
beaches of Teacapán, in theMunicipality of
Escuinapa, only 52 miles south of Mazatlán.
The National Fund for Tourism - FONATUR - has made a public
investment for the development of Playa Espíritu of over 925
million dollars, which will be the detonator of 13 billion dollars
of investment from the private sector.

Playa Espíritu will be a high-end tourist resort oriented towards
specialized as well as domestic and international Premium tourism, with
the objective of servicing the most dynamic segments of world tourism,
among them: those seeking nature, culture, adventure, nautical, golf,
conventions and health.
The resort is comprised of residential areas surrounding golf courses, a
marina, waterfront boardwalk and recreational areas, all integrated into
hotel complexes, boutique hotels and exclusive spas. The complex will be
connected with interior water canals that connect the different areas,
creating a true diversity of nautical environments showcasing open
spaces and scenery. The development will also offer a theme park,
shopping centers, administrative buildings, cruise ship docks, beach clubs
and the entire infrastructure needed for civic activities and
entertainment.

The Federal Tourism Bureau distinguished the villages of Cosalá and
El Fuerte for their historical and cultural wealth and for their wellpreserved historical identity, declaring them Pueblos Mágicos de

Topolobampo, in the Northern part of the State, has an important deep-sea
harbor to welcome cruise ships and two marinas for nautical tourism use. Isla
Cortés, in Central Sinaloa has a new Tourist Marina. And in the South,
Mazatlán has a large deep-sea harbor where cruise ships from the most
important international cruise lines have arrived; three marinas with a
capacity of over 1,000 tourist vessels and a modern fueling dock.

To the North, Sinaloa is connected to the Western part of the U.S. at our
border with the State of Arizona, and to the South all the way to Mexico City
with a four-lane highway. And as of 2013, Sinaloa will connect to the Eastern

Corridor with the new Mazatlán-Matamoros route.
