CHISLEHURST
SCHOOL FOR GIRLS
ALUMNI
Welcome to our Newsletter
Dear All,
As you can see from our new heading, Beaverwood School is now officially known as
Chislehurst School for Girls. As reported in our last newsletter, Governors decided to
revert to our former school name of Chislehurst School for Girls .
This change came into effect from September 2014 and will appear on all literature,
stationery and signage in the future. We look forward to many more successful years
as Chislehurst School for Girls.
We have sad news too, our Chair of Governors, Mr John Ransley recently passed away.
John was a great supporter of the school through the years and will be greatly missed.
Please Note: The school website has also now changed to:
www.chislehurstschoolforgirls.co.uk
and all email correspondance should now come to @chsfg.co.uk
Remember, we love hearing from you. If you have any news, please email me:

Mrs Jones

A First Class Future
My name is Michelle Fewster, I am the
alumni of Beaverwood 2004-2009.
I have recently graduated from the
University of the Arts London with a
First Class Honours Degree in Magazine
Publishing. (Something as a severely
dyslexic student I thought would be
impossible!) Just shows you can do
anything if you put your mind to it.

Hello all,
see below pictures of new arrival
Nadir.
We are both doing well and I
will bring him to school soon.
Cheers
Raquel Gonzalez :)
I have also recently been successful and got a placement on a
Graduate Scheme with Barratt London which I started in August.
I am very excited to be finally earning after being dependant on a
student loan for three years.
Thats about it for me, seems to all be happening at once.
Editors Note: We congratulate Michelle on her fantastic
achievements and wish her well for the future.
Hello Mrs Jones,
Great to hear from you! I’m doing good.
I've decided I would like to become a business studies lecturer; but first to gain
experience working in business, (banking to be exact). I'm currently working as
a Compliance Analyst for Lawson Connor.
It's very busy at times but I feel my experience working here will help me later
on to be well rounded lecturer hopefully anyway.
I hope you are well too, and that Beaverwood girls (now Chislehurst School) are behaving as well as
we did :)

Star in our video!
We would like to take a short video of two or three alumni who would be happy to appear on our school website. The idea is that you can give
a short talk for two or three minutes just updating us on either your life - what you've been doing, or your experiences of university.
Please let me kow if you are willing to do this. Please contact me on [email protected] or [email protected]

Ex-student makes a success in the Fashion industry.
Dear Mrs Jones,
I hope you are well.
You may remember me as an ex-student at Beaverwood/CHSFG. I left the Sixth Form
in 2004/5. Since leaving I have worked in Fashion Buying and last year trained as a
lecturer in Fashion Management and Marketing.
I am currently a Lecturer for the Fashion Management & Marketing course at UCA
Epsom. I am a graduate of London College of Fashion in BA Hons Fashion
Management and completed the PGCE in Lifelong Learning Sector of Education in
2013.
After graduating I went on to work in Buying within large companies such as Burberry, Harrods and ASOS,
selecting ranges for the customers dealing with many luxury brands such as Ralph Lauren, Missoni, D&G,
Paul Smith and Moschino to name a few. I use my experiences to inspire those that want to learn about the
fashion industry.
At UCA Epsom, I have played a leading role in delivering marketing and management theory through
inclusive practice and dedicated, enthusiastic and dynamic teaching methods. I lead units on Buying &
Merchandising and Branding & Promotion within Stage 1.
At the University I have created strong industry links by initiating the annual ‘Fashion First’ careers fair which
launched this year. The event provides students with an opportunity to gain an insight into fashion pathways, job
seeking advice and further their career opportunities.

Dear Mrs Jones,
It is so good to hear from you! I hope you are well and enjoying summer.
I am doing well. Uni life is very exciting and I have settled nicely at Westminster. I am taking
International Relations & Spanish and have met so many new people! The course itself is
very interesting and I am thoroughly enjoying it although I still don’t know what I would
like to do when I finish. My plan is to travel around the world when I finish my degree and
then decide!
I passed all my subjects with really good grades so it has been a very positive year for me.
I have also been doing some babysitting in my free time to earn some money and it has been a good experience
too. I have just been on holiday to Turkey with my boyfriend, Luke, for 2 weeks, it was fabulous. I am now in Lagos,
Portugal on holiday to visit my family and old friends - it is always good to come home.
I wish you a very good summer and good return to school in September. It would be lovely to see you all again and
if possible, I will pop by the school to give you all a warm hug.
A big hug to you,
Carolina Alburquerque (Alumni 2006)

We’ve recently heard from Cally McDonald who left us about 10 years ago.
Seems like yesterday. This is what she had to say.
Hi Mrs J,
I’m sorry it has taken me so long to reply. That’s awful even by my standards.
Kristiana Sizinceva,(Alumni 2013) There have been some adventures in the last 10 years that’s for sure. Highlights
have certainly been in the two and a half years I spent abroad.

What a fantastic start.

Alex Bradley (Alumni 2009)
has just got into Greenwich
University.
Rosie Avalon(nee Monk)
(Alumni 2004)
has got in touch to say she is
working in a school for autistic
children, and is a mum.
I’m now back in London and working as a business consultant in Financial
Services and saving to do a masters and have a home of my own. I’m 28 in
3 weeks time and could never have imagined all the things that were waiting
for me when I left school at 18.
Cally McDonald (Alumni 2004)
P.s I should probably also tell you that I do not have a husband, a mortgage or
a baby, but I guess that’s what might be waiting in the next 10 years.
Editors Note: I used to tease Cally, saying i didn’t want to hear she’d married and
had a baby before she was 25. She clearly did as she was told.
I also heard from Tareg Morris who left us in 2008. She is now living in Cornwall studying Art,
as well as looking after her little boy, Tarloh, and had this to say..
University is going very well. I just officially finished my second year and got some feedback
from my last project that went well.
The Eden project have asked me to display my pieces which is pretty good.
Time has flown so fast, Tarloh is coming to the end of his first year at Primary school.
He’s doing very well too.
Sending lots of love
Tareg Morris (Alumni 2008)
Since I left school I became a assistant manager at EE, and then recently I have started a new job at the
Bank of America near Canon Street doing admin/PA work.
It took me a long time to find a new job, but I finally got there. There’s lots of great perks with the bank as well, and
the money is really good too.
