TOGETHER !
Firstly, we thank all the citizens that, very carefully, recycle home waste and
with much attention take care to advise their neighbours who, even today,
are in trouble to recycle properly household scraps.
Over the years, we made some adjustments, both on the type of products
that you can avoid sending to landfills or incinerators, both on their proper
recycling. In this regard, we chose ways which consider the development
of technological treatment plants.
However, we realized that despite the considerable efforts of many citizens
in waste recycling, we aren’t still able to get over the percentage of 55%.
Certainly, this is a significant result but not enough if you want to share the
aim of having a cleaner environment, of realizing reuse methods, of giving
support to improve the life’s quality of the place where you live.
Believing that distraction or wrong but established habit are the main causes which have prevented us from overcome the percentage of recycling
in the recent period, we would like to propose you a brochure schematic
but also very detailed.
We included inside it, not only the principal changes just introduced and
partly covered in the leaflet of last year, but we also remembered what to
do in order to ensure an effective waste recycling. Often, small steps are
enough. Surely, we can do more TOGETHER !

WASTE CONTAINERS
UMIDO
Food scraps, tea filters, waste coffee, paper handkerchiefs and napkins, kitchen blotting paper, cut flowers, small home plants.
USE only biodegradable bags made of bio-material
or totally biodegradable paper. Never plastic bags.
WARNING: don’t put in oil paper, carbon paper,
thermal paper (receipts), dirty paper or together with
other material.
CARTA
Sheets, newspapers, magazines, exercise-books,
cardboard boxes, cardboard.
WARNING: don’t put in oil paper, carbon paper,
thermal paper (receipts), dirty paper or together with
other material.
VETRO
Bottles and glass jars, glass.
WARNING: don’t put in bulbs, neon lamps, mirrors,
pottery and chinaware, crystal, ceramic, aluminum.
MULTIMATERIALE
Plastic bottles; Tetra Pak containers (for milk, juices,
wine and other food); cans; cellophane; food containers (also polystyrene); nets for fruit and vegetables;
trays of fruit, cheese, cold meats; containers for liquids in general; steel and aluminum packaging;
plastic bags (such as those transparent for fruit and
vegetables from supermarkets); plastic plates and
cups not too much dirty.
WARNING: don’t put in the following materials:
paper and cardboard, paints and solvents containers,
polystyrene and cellophane of large dimensions and
quantities, disposable plastic cutlery.
SECCO
Toothbrushes, pantyhose, plastic shavers, rubber objects and pipes, nappies and sanitary towels, cd, vacuum cleaner bags, litters for dogs and cats.
WARNING: don’t put in materials and packaging
introduced in waste containers above mentioned.
Grass and leaves inside transparent bags; branches
from pruning collected in faggots well tied , each
weighing up to 15 kg, to be put down next to bags.

USED CLOTHES
COLLECTION
Clothes, bags, curtains, linen, hats, knitwear, blankets, paired shoes in good condition, textiles and leather materials used at home.
WARNING: don’t put in tatters, carpets, fitted carpet, toys, soft toys, worn clothes or in very bad condition.
Please use the rubbish skip “Gives value”, a project
from RETE R.I.U.S.E. (Used clothes collection jointly
liable and ethical), a social cooperatives network coordinated by Caritas Ambrosiana.
You can find the nearest yellow rubbish skip, looking
up the municipal website at “What I find and where”
inside the home page, miscellaneous section.
WASTE BATTERIES
For batteries look for red and grey containers. You can
find them looking up the municipal website at “What
I find and where” inside the home page, miscellaneous section.

Please use the containers inside each chemist’s shop.

Wednesdays: from 8 to 17 (for TV and screens up to 14.30 )
Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays: from 9 to 13
WHAT TO BRING iron materials, electrical devices, batteries, bulbs and
neon lamps, car batteries, vegetables oils (for frying) and minerals, paper,
glass, plastic, iron materials, vegetable scraps, wood, bulky, debris from
small maintenance, containers labeled T/F (paints, solvents), expired drugs.
WARNING The identity card is required.
To access by a van (private or company) you need written authorization issued by Land and Environment sector, 3, Pogliani street - fourth floor- during the following hours: Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 to
11, Tuesdays from 15 to 17
TV AND SCREENS may be taken to the municipal ecological platform 20,
Vespucci street, only on Wednesday (except holidays) - from 8 to 14.30.
For people unable to go to the platform, it’s possible to book a free take
home, calling the toll : 800 33 10 14, open from 9 to 12 on weekdays.

OIL FRYING
DON’T throw oil frying in the wash basin: it’s polluting. However, it may be recovered
for a new life.
Please help us to improve the waste recycling: bring the oil used to fry to the municipal platform located in 20, Vespucci street. It will be reclaimed and could become
a new product (oil, soap, ink) or ecological fuel !
TYRES
Used tyres are special waste. Disposal must be made by tyre- dealers, repair shops,
service stations, at the time of their replacement.
HELP US USING PROPERLY THE ROAD BASKETS
FOR WASTE COLLECTION
DON’T put inside them the bags with household waste that will be collected at
home. The incorrect use increases disposal costs causing degradation. Inspections
will be carried out.
WASTE AND SERVICES TAX
(TARES)
NEWS: The TARES was established by art. 14 of D.L. 201/2011, converted into Law
214/2011, in order to replace the waste tax (TARSU) and the environmental fee (TIA1
e TIA2). The revenue will be used to meet the 100% coverage of costs incurred by the
Municipality for the management of collection and disposal regarding the local solid
waste, the street cleaning, the maintenance of public parks and other general expenses (such as: lighting, road maintenance public safety and so on).
Municipality send the payment forms directly to the address of all citizens who have
complained premises occupancy at the time of applying for residence. It’s possible
to provide a self-declaration at the counter of Milan South Area located in Cesano
Boscone - 5, Vespucci street with the deed or lease of the property where you live.
