Erkunt Vocational Training center has opened under the law of aprenticeship and vocational training center legislation in 1996. As a result of attempts made by the Ankara Chamber of Industry an area was assigned within the first industrial estate zone, building was founded by the one of the biggest industrial establishment of Turkey, Erkunt Industrial A.Ş in 1993 where our activities are still taking place. . A protocol has been signed with the cooperation of Ministry of Education and the Ankara Chamber of Industry and our centre was designed as a training program instuition which gives training program to members of staff who are working within the establishments at all levels from apprentices to engineers and named as ERKUNT TRAINING CENTRE in 1995. Erkunt Training Centre is the only educational centre which carries out its activities with the cooperation of Ministry of Education and Ankara Chamber of Industry, which is a sectoral organisation. Ankara Chamber of Industry provides all kinds of financial needs to Erkunt Training Centre as well as financing for the national and overseas education for the members of staff which was assigned by the Ministry of Education and also provides staff in case of need. Erkunt Training Centre has equipments provided by the Ministry of Education and continuously updated by the Ankara Chamber of Industry in accordance with todays technology such as machinery, metal, wood works, automotive, electrical electronical automation technologies, workshops and laboratories. Specified by laws 1-Apprenticeship, foreman and mastership courses with work pedagogics training which are designed for masters. 2-Apprenticeship training under the dual vocational training. 3-Vocational courses 4-Professional development and integration courses 5-Other educational programs are held in accordance with the requiremets of members of Ankara Chamber of Industry. Training students of 480 apprentice, 175 dual vocational, 120 mastership . Training is organized for Lifelong Learning program to approximately 7000 people every year. Project and Activities 1- OSEP(School Industry Education Programs) 2-OTEM( Automation Technologies Education Centre) 3- ASO Vocational Academy 4- IHEP ( Employment Preparation Training) 5- MEPET ( Professional Skills Tests) 6- Service Training Activities OSEP School Industry Education Programs OSEP is a vocational training practice carried out under the dual vocational training conducted by a protocol signed between the Ministry of Education, Ankara Chamber of Industry and Sincan First Organized Industrial zone in August in 2006. OSEP School Industry Education Programs Osep is a vocational and technical secondary program which has been designed in order to bring up qualified human manpower at the highest level and has introduced a new vision to vocational training programs and implemented by our centre. THE GOAL of OSEP TO THE STUDENTS ‘Necessary information by the effective methods’ IN ORDER TO EDUCATE QUALIFIED HUMAN MAN POWER AT ALL LEVELS Employment has being guaranted at all levels to those students continuing their OSEP education. Students have been accepted to the school who has completed eighth grade of the compulsary primary education and completion of the ninth grade without any failure in the that year. The choice of an area completely based on the result of a skill tests. A student who has passed the skill tests is being interviewed by a committee which consists of human resources of the enterprises, and a guidance committee counselor. At the end of the tests students who are successful enough to register to school signs a contract and becomes an employee of the interested business. Students are paid about 30% percent of the minimum salary throughout their education by the interested businesses. All students are given working clothes and stationary , lunch is provided to those students in skill training, which are all paid by the Ankara Chamber of Industry and businesses throughout their education. Social security contribution of the students are paid by the goverment in accordance with the legislation that is specified by the law. These students are eligible for every kind of student rights which are assigned to the students of secondary education from different schools. With a successful completion of education, each student can continue employment at various levels with their contracted enterprises. As required by the enterprise , students will gain knowledge and skill since their education is taking place within the employment . This also guarentees employment for the students. With this system, vocational knowledge and the skill are taken place in modern workshops and laboratories at school and supported by the skills within the enterprieses in accordance with the technologies of today. Compatible with their own hand training, innovative ideas and product oriented training programs are applied since skill trainings are based on the basis of project development. Students graduate from school as individuals who are compatible with working conditions, self confident with well developed experience and in completion of the education. Factors that make OSEP different There are different social activities which are taking place during the students training. (cinema ,theatre , excursion programs, scouting activities, chess, snooker tournaments, Osep afforestation e.t.c) Ensuring reading books and taking part in discussions of industrialists to help to improve personal development of the students Parents Educational Program Mothers Club Activities Knowledge of Life Education English Language Education OTEM Automation of Technologies Education Centre A project presented to the State Planning Organization was designed in our centre with cooperation of Ankara Chamber of Industry, Ministry of Education and Üniversity of Ankara which has received $200.000 of donation support in year 2002. The hydraulics, pneumatics, mobile hydraulics, basic and advanced PLC, PIC programming, automatic control, industrial control training are given within the OTEM project. Today our centre is limited in number within its own field that provides practical training in Turkey Our centre teachers have being educated, at NFPC in England,at CETOP and REXROTH in Germany. We are providing practical and theoretical training to the leading instuitions and contributing an important part of national economy. Advanced level of training programs are designed for the maintenance and repair technicians, masters, engineers, technical teachers and for the üniversity students with related subjects. ASO Vocational Academy General orientation education is given in various professions to those employees who are employed by the members of Ankara Chamber of Industry according to the requirements of the businesses. The scope of the project is to give vocational training and productivity in technical drawings, measurement and control, CNC programming and operating, welding e.t.c General purpose training such as job security, work and work ethic are given in order to prepare the employee to the working environment with the latest world of technology. IHEP Employment Preperation Training Project A vocational training project has been designed to meet requirements of qualified human work power of members in the Ankara Chamber of Industry.The organization provide vocatioal training courses in the specified area according to the requirements of the businesses chosen among unemployed people. All the education activities of IHEP has been taken place with the cooperation of Ankara Clothing Manufacturers' Association which consists of Ankara Chamber of Industry and its members, various Industrialists and Businessmen's Association, SİAD and other associations . Benefiting from various AB projects and sources of Turkish Employment Education in order to meet todays conditions in education. The support is provided by these projects is worth more than 1.500.000 euros. These resources have been used continuously to renew workshop equipments of our school. . At the end of this education ,more than 5000 people have gained a vocation and employment and have met qualified human manpower requirements of the businesses in the last 15 years. . MEPET Pofessional Skills Tests LDV and VETPRO projects have been carried out under the AB projects in order to investigate the implementation of routing into vocational training education in Germany. MEPET Pofessional Skills Tests We have gained significant recovery about this topic and as a result of the joint venture conducted with the support of Ankara directorate of national education and financial support of Ankara Chamber of Industry a similar test has been designed in according to the structure of our country. Service Training Activities Training programs have been organized for 1830 teachers and managers who are working in different cities and working in vocational and technical areas within the Ministry of Education EUROPEAN UNION PROJECTS Name; Clothing sector employment preperation training Central Finance and Contracts Unit(Active employment measures 2005-2006) The project host organizations; Ankara chamber of Industry, (ASO)and Ankara Industrialists' Association(AGSD) Budget 297.000 Euro 347 unemployed people have taken place within this project and 284 people employed under the same sector. Fashion design labs have been set up under this project within the AGSD. Members of association already use these labs for their own designs. EUROPEAN UNION PROJECTS Name;Vocational Academy Central Finance and Contracts Unit(Active employment measures 2005-2006) The project host organization; Ankara chamber of Industry (ASO)and Erkunt Vocational Training Centre' Budget 186.00o euro 120 unemployed people have taken place within this project and 94 people employed within the same sector. Cad cam computer labs have been set up under this project and still gives service to the industrial enterprises. We provided a CNC machine in machinery technologies workshop and various welding machines in the metal technologies workshop.
