President’s Message
What business can you be in that is wrong 90% of the time and stay in business? The weather business!
We fell victim and cancelled our February luncheon. However better safe than sorry. As they say in
New Hampshire, “if you don’t like the weather, wait a minute it will change”.
Plans for the ‘Unbutton Your Rig’ Rally are coming together. The weekend will offer an interesting blend of
the annual ‘Unbutton’ Rally and a celebration dinner of Watchung’s 50th anniversary. The rally will take
place at Panther Lake Camp Ground, April 17-19. We are keeping it close to home with the intension of
inviting retired Unit members to join in the celebration dinner at Sheridan’s Tavern in Andover, a short five
miles from Panther. Additionally, we have extended Rally invites to all of the Region 2 Units. Please nudge
your friends to help celebrate our Units fifty years of Airstreaming fun.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the March luncheon.

MINI-CARAVAN TO REGION 2 RALLY:
REGION 2 RALLY FOR 2015 WILL BE HELD AT CENTRE HALL PA (May 28 – 31)
That reminded me of our first Region Rally in Bloomsburg PA in 2007.
The Rally started with a caravan of 15 units led by Don Bookholt. An impressive
column of AIRSTREAM TRAILERS moving on Route 80 at 55 mph., that was the speed limit Don
allowed. We all stayed in line. Looking at the pictures of that event
shows the changes in membership since that date. Those who attended the Region 2 Rally, were: Spencer,
Best, Devine, Bookholt, Pasmore, Joe Fodor, Nauta, Toole, Hirschmann, Wooding, Brunner, Nehlig, Bacon,
Plant and Brugmans. That is an impressive list of active Units. Unfortunately, some of which we have lost
over the years for one reason or another.
Of course, new blood has joined Watchung. Would it not be great to have another 15 unit caravan snaking up
Route 80 towards Centre Hall on May 28? It is only about 70 miles further west. Give it some thought.
I assume the Nehligs, Bacons, Plants and Brugmans are going! That is 4. Need only 11 more!
