Take a right on Powell Street, and stay in the center lane. Go straight through the first light, over the bridge. After the bridge, you’ll reach another light, which is Hollis Street. Take a left on Hollis Street. Go down a few blocks, and you’ll reach 62nd Street. Take a left on 62nd Street, and drive a few doors down to the mailbox that says 1418. This is the door you need to enter (please see the following page with a photo and red arrow of this door). Once you find parking, enter in this door, and walk up two flights of stairs. Once you reach the top, take a left through the red door. Once you reach the end of this hall, take a right. Studio 1568 door is on the left side, marked clearly on the door. Directions from the north: Take CA-24 W toward the 580 W (towards Berkeley). Merge to the right lane, and get off at the Powell Street exit. Parking: after 8:30 or 9am, parking can get a bit tricky and full. You can park anywhere on Hollis Street and 63rd or 64th all day with no permits or meters. You can also park at the 2 hour green curbs on Hollis Street; in my 6 years of having this studio, I’ve only seen any parking attendants come by once! So, park at your own risk, but, there is little risk. However, do NOT park on the same side of the studio building on 62nd Street, which is permit only (you will see the signs). Unfortunately, you can’t park in the lots near the building either – those are permit only as well. It shouldn’t take you longer than 5 - 10 minutes to park. There is also the Amtrak Train lot, which is $20 per car for a full day of parking. This lot is located at 5585 Horton Street, about a 2 minute walk from the entrance of the building. BART: There are two BART stations that are closest to the studio. That said, both are about a mile or two away, so too far to walk to the studio. Here are suggestions: Ashby BART stop: This stop is approximately 1.8 miles from my studio door. From here, you can take a cab (they’re usually waiting outside the stop) or take UBER. MacArthur BART stop: This stop is also about 2 miles from the studio door. However, there is a free shuttle called the Emery-Go-Round, that does pick-ups at this BART (#1 on link below) and drops off at 63rd and Hollis (#14 on the link below), a block from the studio. http://www.emerygoround.com/schedule-maps/hollis#schedule This is the door that you will enter: 1418. Walk up the stairs to studio number 1568.
