Digital Destruction 2013 design: Ross McBride Time marches on. The old must make way for the new, but sometimes it does not go willingly as with the Digital Destruction Watch. Set in an analog body, the traditional mechanical dial seems to have shattered to make way for the digital LCD screen. The “crown” is actually a button that switches between time, second, and date modes, as well as activate the backlight. Digital Destruction is a unisex watch measuring 38mm in diameter (1.50"). It is available in three styles: black IP stainless steel with black leather band, natural brushed stainless steel with black leather band, or brass colored stainless steel with brown leather band, and displays time in a military style 24 hour format (ex. 22:00 = 10:00 pm). It indicates the profoundest depth which lies below. The Nadir watch never strays from the symbolic "core" of time itself. The varied thickness of arrows on the tips of hour, minute and second hands pinpoint the cycle of time on the dial centered underneath the lens. Time is the Nadir. Model# 7265 Nadir is a unisex watch measuring 40mm (1.57") in diameter and 8.8mm (0.35") high. It is made of a black IP stainless steel and comes with a 20mm (3/4") black leather band. An optional black silicone band is also available. 3 TIME-is-SHORT 2013 design: Ran Lerner A Watch that changes from an x-ray image to a photo image with a flick of the wrist! Time-is-Short's use of 3-D imaging makes it a unique timepiece guaranteed to cause double-takes. The first dial image depicts the timepiece in living color on the arm. Working on various designs of objects used in daily life, such as watches, I am conscious of participating in a tradition of architects that worked in a variety of scales such as Joseph Hoffmann and Frank Lloyd Wright. In my case, the theoretical point of departure is consistently related to function and beauty. Ana measures 38mm in diameter (1.50”), and is a unisex watch made of stainless steel, complimented by either a 20mm (3/4”) charcoal gray or white leather band. Richard Meier received his architectural training at Cornell University and established his own office in New York City in 1963. Since that time his international practice has encompassed major cultural and civic commissions such as museums, courthouses and city halls in the United States and Europe; corporate headquarters, housing and private residences all over the world. Mr. Meier has received numerous awards honoring his work including the Pritzker Prize for Architecture, the Gold Medal from both the American Institute of Architects and the Royal Institute of British Architects, the Praemium Imperiale from the Japan Art Association and the Gold Medal for Architecture from the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 2008.
