Meet new people from all over the world and make new friends! What To Expect… You will take part in ESOL English lessons each day (Mondays to Fridays). These lessons will include learning about grammar, sentence structure and new vocabulary. You will practise the skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing through different projects and exercises. On your first day take a tour of the college campus to see some of the facilities on offer to you during your time as a Summer School student. These include the canteen, which caters for specialist diets including vegetarian and Halal options, a well-stocked library, multi-faith room, sports fitness centre and IT facilities including free internet access. By the end of the Summer School our students feel more confident with speaking and using English. On the last day of the Summer School, you will be presented with an English Language course certificate from Solihull College and enjoy a party to celebrate what you have learned. You will need to know a little English in order to obtain a place on this course, and must be aged 16+. You will have an assessment to find your current level, so that activities can be tailored to your needs. Student residencies are available if you would like to stay here at the Blossomfield Campus and are aged 18+. The rooms are for single occupancy, all with ensuite bathroom facilities, study desk and optional Internet connection. Each flat consists of five private study rooms and a modern shared kitchen. The Halls are safe and spacious with 24-hour security. Attractions nearby… Solihull College is a short walk away from Solihull Town Centre, with the fashionable Touchwood shopping centre, multi-screen cinema, restaurants, bars, cafes and leisure centre/swimming pool. Take a walk through the local parks or visit popular attractions in the area. These include Warwick Castle, Stratford Town Centre (famous as the birth-place of William Shakespeare), the modern Bullring shopping centre (including the Selfridges store) in Birmingham City Centre, and much more... Solihull College is a great establishment and I would definitely recommend it to others wanting to study.
