Our members enjoyed taking part and we were able to produce around 50 pennants for the 2012 Olympics. We were able to promote the Embroiderers’ Guild to a very wide audience. Many of the people who came in to see what we were doing had not heart of our organisation before and were most interested to hear about our activities. As a result, our December meeting was well attended, with a number of visitor attending as a direct result of our participation in the Touchwood Your Space initiative. Our member ship has not increased by about 8% and is still rising! We have also forged links with several other local organisations and have been asked to give demonstrations and talks bout activities. We were very grateful for the opportunity to showcase the Embroiderers’ Guild to such a wide audience so many thanks to Touchwood and to all those who helped to make this possible.” Anne Thumpston, Secretary, Solihull Embroiderers’ Guild “Your Space was a very successful week for us, the key factors for us were that we spoke to over 200 people and made them aware of our work, signed 97 people up to our free prize draw and we got 25 new volunteers as well as getting the support of our two MP’s, Caroline Spellman and Lorely Burt. We also were able to involved young people from Solihull College and Warwick University Business School.” Anne F Hastings, Chief Executive Officer, Age UK Solihull Press Coverage Highlights Press Coverage Highlights cont.
