They engaged PSG to provide turnkey design and construction services. The team sprung into action to complete the design in a matter of weeks. • PSG simultaneously coordinated with the landlord for the core and shell upgrades. • PSG’s team completed the construction in 6 weeks with all systems in place. Results • After the customer struggled to deliver for over a year, PSG was able to complete the project in less than three months. • PSG leveraged their existing relationships with the AHJ to expedite the permitting and inspection processes. • PSG overcame several challenging existing conditions, including aging and neglected MEP infrastructure, to create a modern and comfortable environment for the customer. U.S. Department of Homeland Security FEMA – Data Center LOCATION Mount Weather, VA PROJECT SIZE Overview 40,000 square feet The Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), required a trusted partner experienced in managing the design, construction, and quality control of a Tier 3 data center. Once on board, PSG immediately provided a positive impact by collaborating with FEMA to develop the design and construction budgets for this project. PSG continued to provide valuable input throughout the entire design, construction, and commissioning of the data center by working very closely with FEMA, the design team, and the contractors. PSG worked within a secure site, providing security cleared personnel, Site Inspection and ongoing QA/QC Reports. PSG reviewed the commissioning plan to ensure that systems were adequately tested. PSG provided insight into code compliance across all disciplines, and cost-avoidance strategies. U.S. Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement LOCATION Washington, DC PROJECT SIZE 2,000 people 6 phases, 3 locations PROJECT VALUE $615,000 Overview A division of The United States Department of Homeland Security, US Customs and Immigration Enforcement, selected PSG to provide a fully operational solution for comprehensive Relocation Management Services. This fast track project consisted of relocation for 3 different locations, including their new headquarters and over 2000 people. With the first move occurring within 4 weeks, PSG faced a very aggressive schedule. This move was complex and included the relocation of government employees, their office contents, files, safes, and classified materials. The move was completed in a total of six phases, each phase moving approximately 250-300 people. This fast track project consisted of the relocation for 3 different locations, in 6 phases, and over 2000 people all within 16 weeks. The entire relocation had to be planned, coordinated, and implemented within 16 weeks. PSG met the challenges of this project with professionalism and provided expertise and recommendations for resolution of issues and challenges. A great deal of coordination was involved in this effort. Specific guidelines had to be followed when moving, storing and disposing of assets for the government. PSG worked with the entire team to successfully relocate the ICE staff on time. Security was a big issue due to all materials being properly packed, sealed, secured, and escorted by armed agents during each move phase. PSG went above and beyond the call of duty to assist the customer with matters that were outside the scope of work. U.S. Department of Transportation Headquarters LOCATION Washington, DC PROJECT SIZE 1.9 million square feet PROJECT VALUE $3 million Overview PSG began working with the US Department of Transportation (DOT) in 2005 as DOT embarked on the final stages of its new headquarters project. Located on an 11-acre parcel within the Southeast Federal Center in Washington, DC, the 1.9 million square foot complex consists of two towers, which houses the agency’s 5,700 employees. PSG provided quality assurance and quality control for the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems. We also assisted with developing cost saving strategies by researching the latest equipment, design and operations of post-9/11 security and emergency protocol for building management systems applications. Work included: Review and confirm project schedule and monitor progress to ensure timely and satisfactory completion. Monitor work to ensure compliance Perform periodic site inspections. Observe and report the quality and progress of the work. Monitor inspections by the local jurisdiction and expedite inspection approvals. Results PSG resolved design issues on floors throughout the complex including MEP review of construction drawings, management of the A/E revisions on 15 floors, consulting on mission critical system infrastructure. PSG introduced cost saving by using more efficient Variable Air Volume (VAV) boxes and light sensors throughout both towers. PSG’s scope of work expanded as we evaluated the engineering issues that affected DOT’s ideal workplace standards. U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Headquarters Restack LOCATION Washington, DC PROJECT SIZE 1,000,000 square feet PROJECT VALUE Overview The United States Securities and Exchange Commission selected Project Solutions Group to provide a turnkey solution to restack their 1,000,000 SF headquarters facility. This fast track project included the following scope: programming, space planning, budgeting, furniture inventory, construction drawings, master relocation planning, IT migration planning, onsite supervision, moving services and post move help desk support. $1.9 Million SERVICES PROVIDED Relocation Management Turnkey Services SCHEDULE September 2007 – September 2009 PSG was selected to provide a turnkey solution to restack SEC’s 1,000,000 square foot headquarters facility.
