NJDOT Route 35 Restoration Project was fast tracked after damage caused by Superstorm Sandy (October 25th, 2012).
The two PREDLsystems-Lined Structures eliminated a conflict between Ocean County Utilities Authority (OCUA)’s existing
36” RCP Sanitary Interceptor and proposed dual 42” RCP Stormsewer lines. There were several areas of potential conflict
with the proposed stormwater system and OCUA’s existing regional sanitary lines. Working with RBA Group, OCUA was able
to design chambers which allowed the main flow 36” line to bifurcate into two 27” HOBAS pipes. This allowed for
installation of the dual 42” Stormsewer lines without impacting the upstream Stormsewer system.
