AGL 2103+5630?
2011年11月17日星期四
•
AGILE team claimed to have detected intense gamma-ray emission
above 100 MeV from the position (R.A.,Dec.=315.8, 56.5 deg,
J2000) during August 8-10, 2011 (Atel 3544)
•
significance level of 4.8 sigma and a flux of ~3x10E-6 ph/cm2/s (E
> 100 MeV).
•
No prominent extra-Galactic or Galactic gamma-ray sources are
known within the AGL 2103+5630 error box.
•
We did not see anything and placed an upper limit at ~10^-7 ph/
cm^2/s, lower than the flux reported by AGILE team (Atel 3554)

TXS 1530-131
2011年11月17日星期四
•
also known as PMN J1532-1319, a flat-spectrum radio
source
•
listed in SDSS as a g=22.66 galaxy-like object.
•
Fermi detected the source in gamma-rays during May 23
to August 23, 2011 (Atel 3579)
•
On August 22, gamma-ray flux increased to ~10E-6 ph/
cm2/s (E > 100 MeV).
Our follow-ups
2011年11月17日星期四
•
We verified Fermi team’s detection
•
Corrected their error circle (from 0.32 deg to 0.32’)
•
The source is still flaring in gamma-rays during 2011
August 30 to September 4.
Swift ToO
2011年11月17日星期四
•
2 ToO observations: Aug 31 & Sept 13 (~3ks each)
•
found one X-ray source in the Fermi error circle,
consistent with the radio position (Healey+08)
•
but no source was detected in the U-/B-bands by
UVOT in the 2 observations, rsp.
What’s Next?
2011年11月17日星期四
•
The radio source, TXS 1530-131, now known to flare
in gamma-rays, is most likely a blazar (not detected
in all Fermi catalogs so far)
•
We (PIs: Li & Yu) submitted a Gemini-S proposal,
aiming to measure the redshift of its host galaxy
during quiescent

Discovery of an Unidentified Fermi Object as a Black Widow Like
On 2011/11/11..
2011年11月17日星期四
•
MAXI/GSC triggered on a new X-ray transient source
at UT 2011-11-11T05:05:59 (XRF 111111A / MAXI
J0158-744; Atel 3756).
•
The source is extremely soft and is located in the
outskirts of SMC, or (R.A., Dec) = (+29.5 deg, -74.4
deg) (J2000)
Swift follow-ups
2011年11月17日星期四
•
Swift/XRT found an X-ray source positionally
consistent with MAXI J0158-744 (Kennea+ Atel
3758; Li+ Atel 3759). The X-ray flux had faded from
2.4 cts/s to < 0.2 cts/s in ~7 minutes.
•
Swift/UVOT found a U=13 mag optical counterpart,
which had B=16 mag in the USNO catalog -> It
brightens!
Nature of MAXI J0158-744
2011年11月17日星期四
•
MAXI J0158-744 is probably a new supersoft X-ray
source (SSS).
•
Is MAXI J0158-744 the fifth SSS in SMC?
•
Swift monitoring program ongoing; more results from
Ray..
Conclusion

•
FAN is running at an
accelerating speed (i.e. P_dot<0)
•
especially during weekends...
•
What’s the energy source?
