Price includes a materials and studio fee which is non-refundable after class begins. Get additional needed materials list online. Also known as Trace Monotype, this method was originally developed by Paul Gaugin, through his experimentation with line and texture. Paper is laid on top of an inked plexiglass plate. The artist then draws on the back of the paper, using different mark-making tools and varying degrees of pressure. When the paper is peeled back, the ‘positive’ image is revealed. A ‘negative’ image remains on the plexiglass, which is then run through a press. The plate can be re-inked and printed a number of times, allowing for variation on the original image.
