P ure Joy!
This guy is a pure joy! There is happiness and colour, hidden stories and mirror games. Generous and
spontaneous, Jakè displays an inventory of true emotions, as if straight out of Prévert. His words are images,
lined up, repeated until they have deserved their place in
a graphic and fantastic lexical universe.
No hesitation here. Life is painted boldly, solidly, his
14 colours fall into place, never mixing. From the tip
of his well shaken Posca marker, Jakè kaleidoscopes
each instant, multiplies the plans, accumulates the
symbols. A spray of spray paint and you take off into his world.
The drawing is transitional, repetitive and reassuring…a pictorial pet
that gives us the illusion that childhood is omnipotent. Since he has
been 12, Jakè tells himself and us stories, love declarations to his
wife or children who share his imagination, fed by Super Mario, Play
Mobil and doped on Haribo.
Graduated from the Paris Arts School in 1990, he gets closer to street
art, due to his technique and colourful approaches. Having become
Artistic Director, he nourishes his insatiable curiosity and refines his
style.Since 2003 the artist has woven his thread regarding his view
of the world into rich, abundant and moving pieces, for anyone who
knows to watch with the heart and how to get on the other side of the
mirror when facing this faux naive.His white bull terrier icon brings us
toward ever more surprising adventures, framed in wordplay, riddles
and fantasy tales.Follow him and he will settle anywhere, on canvases,
containers, walls, for private use or companies. Everywhere in the
world but always with his unique spirit and the happy expression of
pictorial art full of life. And of course, joy!

Elephant vert group, “Tous fait d’étoiles“

A
work of art in progress: projection of a 1300 square meter mural
on the front of the Elephant Vert group building in Meknès, Morroco.
Indeed, artist Jakè, painter and graphist, had already held an exhibition in Meknès in September 2014 at the French Institut. This time
around, he brought along his partner Kalouf and new young talents
Zorg, Dou, Daïs and RDS, and together they started this monumental
fresco from scratch. The exhibition “All made of stars” offers, through
miniature models, pictures, and videos, the “making of” of this accomplishment that required over a month of work and considerable
logistics.

Featuring Kalouf
Layout of the Selcius terrace, Lyon, France
I
n the Confluence area, just a few meters away from the Saône,
the restaurant and wine bar Selcius’ shady terrasse has recently
gained color and changed vibe thanks to the street artists Jakè
and Kalouf. For a week, the two artists decorated 80m2 of the
structure’s woodwork. The duo worked for around 10 hours a
day to create frescos mixing realism and improvisations.

destined to be auctioned off for the profit of the NGO

by several skippers, competitors at the Vendée Globe
and legends of sailing.
