Start-Up Merchandising
TOM TAILOR offers separate Franchise Terms &
Conditions (see summary of services).
TOM TAILOR merchandisers help with the store opening
by ensuring that goods are presented in line with the
TOM TAILOR lifestyle concept and by training sales
personnel accordingly.
Site Evaluation
Site and market share analysis; an appraisal of the site
based on TOM TAILOR’s success assessment scheme.
Visual Merchandising Service
Business Analysis
Single point of contact for visual merchandising,
pre-arranged on-site visits and support with product
presentation and decoration.
Profitability calculation based on the site evaluation.
Planning and Managing the
Product mix
Seasonal franchise ’menus’ are developed based on TOM
TAILOR’s extensive franchise expertise. Product group
weightings, range depth and range content are drawn up
based on sales analysis.
Workshops
TOM TAILOR offers regular training sessions and
workshops to optimize visual merchandising at the PoS.
Poster Campaigns
All PoS are provided with new image posters twice
a year, as well as for seasonal sales highlights,
e.g. Christmas.

TOM TAILOR develops seven to eight shop window
concepts per year, which come with an optional
installation service.

Design and Implementation
Planning/Project Planning
Lighting/Sound
TOM TAILOR works with partner-architects to create
the design concept for the franchise store, based on
the site plans. The starting situation is reviewed and
the design options discussed during a first visit to the
site. A detailed implementation plan is then drawn up,
and orders are placed in coordination with the partner.
In another visit to the site, the implementation plan
is discussed with any craftsmen that may have been
involved with the partner (preconstruction meeting).
TOM TAILOR’s franchise package includes an
appropriate lighting concept for illuminating the store,
which includes the primary light source in the central
area of the room via built-in spotlights, supplemented by
hanging lighting rails with varying spotlights to ensure an
effective presentation of the goods.
TOM TAILOR also offers a high-quality sound system
including player and loudspeakers.
Merchandise Unit System
All materials required for a successful store opening
are included in the merchandising kit provided by TOM
TAILOR. This includes mannequins, busts, coat hangers,
images, displays, inlays, corner shelving, bags, etc.

The TOM TAILOR merchandise display system was
developed in 2007 to ensure an ideal presentation of
TOM TAILOR goods. The design concept mirrors the
story of the TOM TAILOR brand, and is implemented in
high quality, featuring lacquered surfaces, some handfinished, combined with bright steel, wooden surfaces,
brickwork and quartz sand paint. All TOM TAILOR
product lines were taken into account in the system
design to ensure that the goods are displayed to their
best advantage.

As part of the store components, TOM TAILOR’s
franchise package includes the outdoor signage (logo
for the building façade, protruding ’shingle’) as per the
façade design drawn up by TOM TAILOR.
Flooring

TOM TAILOR’s franchise package includes oak
floorboards with a gray oil finish, corresponding to the
brand image.
