NORTH BRISTOL SPRINT TRIATHLON Swim 400m - Cycle 19km - Run 5km 25th September 2016 Welcome to the North Bristol Sprint Triathlon which is being held at Tockington Manor School, close to the A38 and M5 Junction 16. A location map can be found on the main website. The entrance is situated off Washingpool Hill Road, close to the centre of Tockington Village. The triathlon will to be held on Sunday 25th September 2016. Swim starts will be posted approximately one week before the event. We anticipate registration opening at 6.30am with the first start at 7.30am, depending on final numbers. The slowest swimmers start first. ACCESS TO THE SCHOOL IS STRICTLY VIA THE A38. THE ROAD OUTSIDE IS CLOSED FOR THE RACE. DO NOT PARK IN TOCKINGTON VILLAGE. Car parking is provided on the playing field behind the School. Please follow the marshalls directions and drive slowly for the safety of competitors. Competitors must register before racking their bikes. Race numbers and security wrist straps will be provided at registration. Timng chipsare provided on poolside. The race is expected to be full so we may not accept entries on the day without our prior approval. BTF rules will apply. Competitors must provide their BTF license at registration or pay £5 for a BTF Day License, unless pre-purchased. It is important that competitors obey the rules of the road. Any transgressions will result in disqualification or penalties. Motorcycles will enforce the non-drafting rules. The transition area is located on the lower field, opposite registration. The swim pool is close by and changing rooms will be provided. Race briefings will take place every 30 to 40 mins in transition. Please arrive on pool side approximately 10 minutes before your swim start time. There will be notified of your lane and lane direction, plus provided with a swim cap and timing chip. Swim 16 lengths. There is no diving and no backstroke. Lane counters will indicate when there are 2 lengths to go. Exit the swimming pool via the side entrance and across the School front drive, across the road and into transition. Ensure your helmet is securely fastened before picking up you bike. Exit transition on foot and mount on the road. Pa Car g On the A38 there are a set of traffic lights at Rudgeway. The cycle lane will be coned off for competitors. However, if instructed to stop you must obey. g rkin min Swimool P Ride into the village and turn left. Follow the race signs to the A38 and then towards Thornbury. Complete two laps of the course. On returning to Tockington you turn right for the second lap or left to finish. se our un C R This is a compulsory stop point. You must put one foot down and only re-start when instructed. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. Bike Course n sitio Tran a Are Registration On returning to the School you will be instructed to dismount on the road before a stop line. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. Push your bike back to transition. Your helmet must remain fastened until your bike is racked. The run course loops around the playing field before exiting on to Washingpool Hill Road. It follows the road for a short distance before turning left on to a private drive. The signs and marshals will direct you up a trail to a turnaround point at the top of the hill, which is the halfway point. You will collect a coloured band, then retraces the same route back to the School and loop around the playing field to finish in front of transition. There will be a water station outside the entrance of the School. Please be aware of cars on the run course from arriving competitors. Cycle Route Car park access 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes will be provided for male and female competitors in the open category. Then 1st places for male and females in the 40 to 44 years, 45 to 49 years and 50 to 59 years and 60+. We hope to hold prize giving around 40 minutes after the last competitor finishes.
