Millie was born on October 27th, 2014 in
Wellsburg, WV. She married her husband,
Abner Lynch on June 12th, 1945. They
had two daughters together ~ Peggy and
Debbie. She has five grandchildren and
eight great-grandchildren!
She enjoyed raising her family and she loved to walk, garden and
cook. She is a very sweet woman that loves to sing, dance and have
a great time. She has that very special way of making everyone
happy! The Golden Acres Neighborhood loves having Millie with us.
Congratulations Millie!! We love you!!

ANNUAL FAMILY PICNIC
Weirton Geriatric Center is very pleased to announce that
Brittany Wilfong has been named Employee of the Month for
September 2014. Brittany has been with us for 2 years and is a
CNA on the Enchanted Garden Neighborhood.
Brittany was born and raised in Sewckley, PA and now
lives in Weirton. She has a boyfriend for 4 months. She also has
a dog, named Sable. Her favorite vacation spot is Mrytle Beach
and her hobbies are camping and spending quality time with
family.
She says she enjoys working here because the residents
are wonderful and so is the staff. She also states, "It's wonderful
to get to interact with the residents. It's a very enjoyable job and
I love it!"

WGC’s Annual Family Picnic was held on
August 15, 2014. The weather was a bit cool
for the month of August but we all headed
outside for a great time. On the menu was all
the usual picnic food…hamburgers, hot dogs,
macaroni salad, baked beans, watermelon and
delicious cookies. The Key Club helped out
with the children’s games and they also did face painting which
was a huge hit with the little ones! Chuck Lucas was the
entertainment and sang all of our
favorites. A huge THANK-YOU goes out to
all those who assisted with the picnic this
year… It was a
great success
because of your
teamwork!!!

A SUNNY SUNFLOWER TEA PARTY
On the afternoon of August 21, 2014, some ladies gathered in the
Enchanted Garden Dining Room for a sunflower tea party. The table
décor was bright yellow plates and napkins and pretty straws in cups of
yummy lemonade! We talked about growing
sunflowers and eating sunflower seeds. We also
learned some interesting facts about sunflowers such
as the right growing conditions, how to harvest the seeds and a whole lot
more. We also read and talked about a recipe for sunbutter…sounds
delicious! The tallest sunflower was grown in Germany in 2012, was 27
feet tall and is the current Guinness world record holder. We had a
wonderful time as always!
