PRESIDENT'S NOTES
Merry Christmas everyone!
Hope that you had a great Thanksgiving and it’s almost time for our
annual Christmas party. It’s December 11th at 6:30 at Hillcrest
country club. There will be great food, a lot of fun with ‘horse’ and
some cool gifts and door prizes. Since our finances are in good
shape the club will take care of a portion of the costs so that the meal
will be an even $15, your total cost per person. We will be in a larger
room this year.
I hope that you’ll consider bringing a gift or two for the Christmas is
For Kids campaign. It benefits kids, birth to 18 involved in Children’s
Protective Services. We gathered a Mustang full of toys last year
Also consider bringing a door prize for a fellow member, so it can go
in with the ‘horse’ game.
We do need to know if you’re coming, family is welcome, by
December 5th. Mike will have the menu listed on the web. Hope that
you will join us.
We had a great turnout last meeting and made a ‘big change’ in our
car show. It will be in June starting this year, no longer in August. A
majority of members at the meeting voted to try the June time period.
It will still be at Wayland University and everything else will remain
the same. We will need to get started with preparations much earlier
than in the past, especially this year.
For newer members, the annual Christmas party serves as our
monthly meeting and officers will be elected( re-elected) for the
coming year. You are welcome ‘toss your hat’ into the election
process for any officer position. Nominations can be made from the
floor and it’s good for the club to get some new officers from time to
time.
Hope to see you on December 11th.
John
Mike's Thoughts
John pretty well covered all the info on the Christmas Party & Dinner. For you
new members, besides the great meal, we will have several other things to do that
night including presenting our annual scholarships to Wayland Baptist
University. Then we play "Horse"(like Bingo) for a lot of cool Mustang and
Ford goodies. The club provides most of the stuff to give away, but some folks
like to bring something too, and as John said, please feel free to do so. We
always seem to need more gifts for the ladies, by the way.
We are also collecting new unwrapped toys for the CPS kids again this year. We
had a bunch last year and made a lot of kids happy.
Remember that there will be no regular meeting this month and we will take care
of any pressing business at the party.
Coffee & Cars is Saturday, December 5th, 8 am to 10 am at 98th & Indiana.
Don't forget the "Coming Events" page of the website. There are already
several events listed for 2016 and it will fill up quickly come January.
Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas.
