nce upon a time …
a kid that was living in a small island… during the hot afternoons of the
summer he was usually to sit in a small shop of a old artisan listening his
fantastic stories … hours and hours… listening and watching the man
working.
The hands of the gentleman were dancing a hypnotic dance on the
fire and even the “steps” after a bit were always the same … the kid
was never too tired to watch that dance …
In that place... in that age... nobody would have said that one day his
hands would have danced on the fire too.
Now that kid knows that nothing was so helpful as it was then, to see
and to listen for hours…days …weeks.

This new initiative offers the participant the opportunity to live and work in Murano,
interacting with the staff of the ArtStudioMurano.
There you are able to improve in lampwork technique, to use tools and machinery,
the klin and, moreover, experience the glass fusion technique.
Plus, you can live within the working world; from project to the professional
production of the beads, designing jewelry, and strategy of sales.

More then 20 years of Flamework business, 10
years of international teaching and the official
glassblowing teacher of Boston University and
Abate Zanetti murano glass school. He is always
looking for new artistic expressions of glass
without ever losing the view of business. This
combination gives to Davide something that not
many can find: work and fun. He is never too
serious, but is always concentrating on the
objective at hand allowing the possibility to
develop and keep a good balanced life. Davide
believes in practicing good technique with a
good philosophy in mind, which permits him to
reach a nice equilibrium. Davide's ways of
approaching the flame, the melting and the
action of the bead-making are truly attributes
that belong to him. He expresses his style through
the combination of his Venetian artisan
experience and contemporary vision that
characterizes all of his work. Many bead-makers
with years of experience enjoyed Davide's works
and techniques and started to switch their ways
of work to Davide's solutions. But what he likes
and where he can express himself with all his
creativity is the jewelry designing; his creations
are unquestionably characterized by Davide's
style. Amazing jewelry of incredible simplicity is
the brand of Davide Penso’s design.
tutor – Muriel Jouret
Talented Belgian mosaic artist since 2005. During
the Orsoni master classes in Venice she meet the
melting glass discovering that was her new
direction. After the first course with Davide she
decided to move definitely in Murano to learn all
the technique and business about the glass. Her
passion and admirable sense of organization
became a solid support to manage Davide
classes and projects starting a new collaboration
.
24 days 168 hours of work
Beginner stage during the first week Davide
teaches his own basic technique of the lampworking and bead-making. Afternoon practical
exercises are request to the student that has to
reach the goal in the right time.

Wire-lampworking, Shaping , blowing and much
more are the topics of the flamework class.

i Jewelry designing , Beading, wiring, marketing,
prices and strategies of sales will be treated.

For the advanced student Divide thought more
to see a sort of collaboration, side by side
building project together that can touch many
different technique: from designing to fusing and
grounding and all the creation process of the
jewelry.

Vista
Canale
The Vista Canale apartment faces the Grand
Canal of Murano with one large, screened
window. This apartment has two twin beds,
bathroom with a bath tub, and a kitchen. The
kitchen comes complete with a refrigerator,
stove top, microwave, washing machine.
The Osteria al Duomo

t Osteria al Duomo, one of the classic trattoria
of Murano, is the location of staf lunch rest
and interesting conversation having typical
venetian dishes.
