Most Housing Authorities have subsidized apartments for FAMILIES usually called CHAPTER
705. They may have other programs for families as well. Additionally, most Housing
Authorities also have subsidized apartments for elderly and/or disabled folks as well.

General defInitions of housing terms:
Subsidized = Affordable
Either you will pay a rent amount that is based on your income by means of a sliding
scale OR a percentage of your income OR the apartment may be subsidized in that
the rents are below market value
Congregate = Shared living
Usually your own private room, sometimes a private bath and sometimes it's shared.
Almost always there's a shared kitchen. Rent usually goes by income.
