It’s that time of year when the Calabasas Chamber and the City of Calabasas are thinking
all things “PUMPKINS.” If you’re not familiar with our local tradition of raising “Punky” to
the top of Acura 101 West, well you’re in for a treat. Please join us on September 10, 2015,
from 5:30 to 7:00pm for our Calabasas Pumpkin Festival Kick-Off hosted by Acura 101
West. We are so excited because a new tradition is starting this year, a pumpkin cook-offbake-off. Whether a child or adult, we want you to prepare your favorite pumpkin item for
the contest. Contest rules and applications are available at calabasaspumpkinfestival.com ,
click on Get Involved. All entries need to be in by
August 31, 2015. If you are entering a secret family recipe, simply write that on the application and list only the main
ingredients, your secret will be safe with us! Winners will receive prizes in all categories… Good Luck!
Mark your calendars for the Calabasas Pumpkin Festival on October 17th and 18th. If you are interested in
volunteering, opportunities are available as an individual and business. To showcase your business in the Business
Expo please contact the Chamber office for specific details. This festival takes hundreds of volunteers to put on and

WIN, BAKE, COOK & COLOR FOR THE CALABASAS PUMPKIN FESTIVAL!
DESIGN A BANNER FOR THE PUMPKIN FESTIVAL: Elementary age students are invited to create a
pumpkin, harvest or Halloween scene for the festival banners promoting the festival throughout town. Not only
will your masterpiece be seen by thousands but our prizes include gift cards to Barnes & Noble as well as free
passes for family and friends to the Calabasas Pumpkin Festival. Deadline to Submit is August 31, 2015.
PUMPKIN FESTIVAL KICK-OFF, COOK-OFF & BAKE-OFF: Youth ages 11 to 17 and adults ages 18 & up
are invited to compete with their favorite pumpkin recipes. Categories include pumpkin pie, pumpkin
desserts/sweets (non-pies) and pumpkin savory entrees (non-sweet). Prizes include gift cards to chef retail
stores as well as free passes to the Calabasas Pumpkin Festival. Recipes will be featured on the festival
website.
Submit for any one of our contests and win prizes during the annual Calabasas Pumpkin Festival Kick-off Event.
