One of the most significant inventions that
radically changed the human civilzation is that
of the wheel or the Chakra. There is perhaps
some divine design in this, for one of Lord
Vishnu's weapons with the power of a crore
suns is Chakra, the Discus.
"Expliots" of the Chakra
The Chakra’s exploits in the Krishna Avatara
are too well known – in the killing of Sisupala;
and in hiding for a brief moment the Sun so that
Arjuna could kill Jayadratha and redeem his
pledge. Lord Krishna also used the Chakra to
sever the thousand arms of Baanasura and to
slay Narakasura.
In Gajendra Moksha, it is the Chakra which
slays the crocodile and liberates the Gajendra.
King Ambarisha was a worshipper of the
Chakra. Once he was cursed by Sage Durvasa,
who set upon the king a demon. Lord
Sudarsana came to the king’s rescue and killed
the demon.
But not being satisfied with this, Lord
Sudarsana wanted to teach the Sage Durvasa
and so began to chase him. The sage sought
the help of various gods all of whom asked him
to seek the help of the king! The sage did so
and was saved .
bettered by him. He used to worship Lord Srinivasa
by composing and reciting appropriate
Sankeerthanas during different sevas. There is a
saying that Lord Srinivasa himself had ordered that
some offerings are to be made by the Tallapaka
family descendants only, it is still in practice.
Epilogue
Tallapaka Trinity’s Sankeerthanas are guiding
principles for us which lead to Lord Sri
Venkateswara. They are vivid reflections of our rich
heritage and culture. We humbly state that this
article is the initiation and inspiration by the graceful
Lord Sri Venkateswara.
