February 13, 1902 he was united in marriage to Miss Amelia Buetow, of the Town of Center. To this union five children were born, one dying in infancy. He was a trusted employee of the Baker Manufacturing Company for the past twenty-two years, until several months ago, when ill health forced him to retire; gradually growing worse from day to day. Mr. Apfel passed away, Monday December 20. Mr. Apfel was a man universally respected by all who knew him, being a man of exceptional industrious habits. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen and the Woodmen of the World. Funeral services at the home Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Rev. F. P. Hanaman, officiating, interment being in Maple Hill Cemetery. Surviving are his wife and four children, Lloyd, Minnie, Lindle and Maurice; three sisters, Mrs. Lucy Kueltz, Center; Mrs. Rose Miller, Marshall, Minn., and Mrs. Minnie Miller, Laramore, N. D.; six brothers, Will, Center; Lewis, Evansville; Henry, Laramore; John, Neilsville; George, Westby, Wis., and Charles, Chetek.
