Fall 2014
Southeast Iowa Parrot Head Club
We are so very grateful to all of the members of the
Southeast Iowa Parrot Head Club! They sponsored a
fundraiser for Hope Haven’s Hopefully Yours store on
July 19th.
We want to thank all of the club members, sponsors, the
Paddle Wheel and employees of Kohl’s. Thank you also
to all of the attendees. A great time was had by all!
Pictured is Jerry Smith, the high bidder of a wheel barrel
along with club member Laura Beckman.
$12,000 was raised on our behalf and this is a huge
accomplishment and a great help to us!
Burlington Most Beautiful Contest
AS participated in the Burlington Most Beautiful Contest,
and was awarded Most Beautiful Business category.
There were so many people involved with the project.
Community volunteers, and staff and clients from Day
Hab and SCL worked to select, plant, and weed the
gardens, and designed and built/created the yard
decorations. Many of the decorations were created from
recyclable items. Hundreds of bottle caps were laid out
and glued into place. Older planters were salvaged and
refreshed, and plants that did not survive last winter
were removed.
The photo is just a small number of participants who
attended the recognition ceremony on Wednesday, July
23rd, at North Hill Park.
