Product Review BY STEVE OAKES CLEAN UP WITH MEGUIARS CAR CARE PRODUCTS Generation Tech Wax 2.0 which seems to be all the rage. I prefer paste because I tend to make a mess with the liquid but the box says to use a small amount and I am sure you will like either as easy as this goes on. First we went over both cars with detailing clay to clean up and smooth out the finish. We did the wax by hand to see how easy it was for the everyday enthusiast, and it went on very easy and came off just as nice, of course it helps when the car starts looking that amazing. Cars always look great when you detail them but this deep shine looks the best that I can ever remember and the finish still has a wet look to it. The website says that this wax is Hydrophobic (meaning it fears water) so it beads water like no other. Awesome stuff, can’t wait to report back on how it looks after a few washes. The only problem we found was that the paint looked so good we had to attend to the rims and tires, which is my least favorite part of the detailing process but we labored on. The wheels were quite clean to start with but the chrome was spotted and had some residue from brake dust. The Hot Rims Chrome polish is a lotion not a paste and very easy to use, not requiring a lot of extra rubbing to get the desired effect. The rims really shine and add the perfect finishing touch. I tried a lot of detailing products over the years and must say this is the easiest full wax, wheel and interior treatment I have done. 2 people 3 hours a few beers and 2 sweet looking rides. Guess I will have to visit the Meguiars display at Corvettes at Carlisle this year to get the scoop on some of their tricks of the trade. I f you are like me, you can’t wait to pull the cover off the car or bike and go for that first spring ride to absolutely nowhere in particular. I just want to take the car out for a couple of hours, stop at some of my favorite spots and pick up the spring ritual essentials, maybe a new CD and definitely the must try new products. This year it has rained enough that there is not salt on the roads and it was sunny, so off I went early to find some things. I picked up Meguiar’s Gold Class Rich Leather Wipes, the new Meguiars Hot Rims Chrome Polish and the new Meguiar’s NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 to try out so I decided I better get it done so our readers would know if it was worth using in their spring ritual process. It was 58 degrees out so washing the car wasn’t that bad and once we tucked the cars back in the garage it was actually quite a pleasure. First we tried the leather wipes on Marc’s seats which looked perfect to begin with but we learned as we went along that they actually benefited nicely from the treatment. The dirt that came out of the leather in both our Vettes was astonishing even with less than 3000 miles on mine. Once we finished the seats looked better than the showroom and they were not greasy or sticky, all of the discoloration on the two tone steering wheel was gone with a little elbow grease and it too looked like new. Excellent Product in our opinion. Next we used the new NXT FOR MORE INFO ON MEGUIARS CARE CARE PRODUCTS, VISIT MEGUIARS.COM.
